Hi Sabrina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I never expected to start my own business. It was my family and friends who really pushed me to consider it. Several years ago, I learned that toxic ingredients in conventional beauty products were irritating my skin. After educating myself on finding healthy alternatives to these harmful ingredients, I began creating skin-healing formulas with only natural and organic ingredients and shared them with family and friends. The result was clear and glowing skin! As skin issues began to heal, friends would say, “This is magical!” And that’s how my best seller, Magic Butter Face Cream, got its name. I received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback about how my natural products were not just helping my skin but their skin as well, and they told me, “You HAVE TO sell this!” I was hesitant, being a busy mom of young kids, but the more I realized how many more people I would be able to help, the more I was motivated to start my business! I began to seek other solutions to help hydrate all skin types, remedies for sun exposure, and other skin issues. My line has grown from special requests from moms who want to have natural options to use on themselves and their family and that’s how Magic Skin Nutrients was born. I would never make a product that I wouldn’t use on my kids, and moms are discovering this safe and magical way to care for their entire family. It brings me so much joy to share my products with everyone.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a stay-at-home mom and also homeschooling makes finding the extra time to work on my business a bit challenging. It involved a lot of late nights and early mornings. But it was worth it! When you’re a small business owner, you are taking care of every part of the business. What keeps me busy professionally is balancing everything from creating my products, keeping up with inventory, shipping, marketing on social media to selling at holiday boutiques. But I absolutely love it! I feel that I can spend all day on it because I’m so passionate about what I do and why.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I’m most proud of is creating healing products and being able to share them with everyone. Small-batch skincare takes the approach to healthy beauty one step further. Think of it as super fresh, hand-crafted nourishment for your skin – made to order. This guarantees that every product is fresher and provides the safest, most effective results. My customers love and appreciate that they can request an ingredient swap. For example, if someone is allergic to a natural ingredient such as coconut oil, I can easily swap it out for another nourishing ingredient. My desire to help create safe alternatives for everyone was the main reason I created all of my Magic Skin Nutrients products.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Passion! I believe that having passion for what you create and truly believing that it will help people is the key to success. It fills my heart every time I hear how my products have helped someone who has been struggling with skin issues. I’ve been there and can relate. My passion is what lead me to where I am now.
