Today we’d like to introduce you to Edith Hernandez.
Hi Edith, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started cooking at the age of 6 with my mother and grandmothers. Being the youngest of 4, my siblings didn’t want to hang out with their little sister. So, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen with them; that’s where I develop my passion for food. I been cooking now professionally for 13 years; I went to Le cordon bleu Culinary School in San Francisco.
3 years ago, I started BossEatz, Pandemic was very tough for me, I was laid off in January and was in an accident in Feb, and Pandemic was in March. Due to everything going on it was very difficult finding work. So, I started doing pop-ups at breweries with the help of friends that had been doing pizza themselves.
Now I’m wanting to expand to I can open my own production kitchen
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been tough! Lots of ups and downs with this type of business. You have to invest a lot of time and money and time hahah with sometimes getting 0 back. It’s the love and passion that moves the not-so-good times
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a chef with a huge heart for food and the desire to share really good food made with love and tastes like your grandma made it.
My business is BossEatz, we focus on catering, weddings, baby showers, birthdays, any occasion.
I do pop-ups with local business here in Long Beach. Just to get more word of mouth and my name out there so I can grow with the business. I love the one on with my clients. I love sharing my passion with people.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
A bit shy but adventures, Anything outdoors! Skateboard, bike, roller blades, playing tag with my sister and brothers. Also really enjoyed waking up on weekends making breakfast for the family. As we all just hung out and watched cartoons.
