Meet Greycen Ferguson of Aesthete Haus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greycen Ferguson.

Greycen Ferguson

Greycen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always felt drawn to entrepreneurship and knew that one day, I would run my own business. After realizing my love for helping others build their brand from the ground up, I launched my design studio, Aesthete Haus, in the spring of 2021. It took months of planning my strategy and service offerings, but at the end of the day, all I needed to do was get a website up with a portfolio of work to start pitching to clients. Thankfully, I had a few years of design experience under my belt from working at large corporations and startups. Since launching, I’ve been able to work with many talented entrepreneurs and have helped design brands from scratch. It’s been rewarding being a part of a founder’s journey early on and collaborating on the strategy and design to bring their dream to life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not a smooth road! There are ups and downs to entrepreneurship, especially in those first 2 years. Much time is spent perfecting your process and getting your name out there while trying to build your client base. I’ve changed my business model multiple times and my service offerings too. However, the fun thing about entrepreneurship is learning about yourself – what you like and don’t like. You have the ability to pivot at any time when you’re on your own. There’s been many days that I’ve wanted to throw in the towel, but those feelings are all part of the process. No job is perfect, but I can say without a doubt that I’m driven by the passion and freedom my design studio provides me, and it’s been the motivating factor to keep going. I am beyond proud of my perseverance that’s led to a really exciting and rewarding place in my business after almost 3 years.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Aesthete Haus is a full-service design studio. We offer brand strategy, brand design, and web development for small businesses and startups. Our wide range of services provide us with the ability to serve our businesses as they scale and their needs grow. For example, a new business may come to us with a need for brand design and a website. Once we complete the project, they may come back in the future for a PR box design or social media help as their business grows. We’re here for a long-term relationship and continue to serve our clients in all phases of their business. It’s so much easier for our clients to use one team than to hop around to different freelancers for their needs. We’re able to keep everything in-house. If we do need to find contractors with specialities, then we do the vetting ourself and those contractors work under us to achieve the original vision as we ensure nothing is mistranslated.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Surround yourself with like-minded people and seek community! Whether it be a professional community or a personal one, the people you know will be the ones to encourage you and support you in the direction you want to go. Many of my friends and former colleagues recommend me for projects which spreads the word with what I’m doing. They’ve been a huge source for my leads, which I’m beyond grateful for. Additionally, never underestimate the power of online communities. I’ve started to get more involved with Slack communities and Facebook groups where I’ve been able to meet amazing entrepreneurs across the world.
