Today we’d like to introduce you to Nuttamon Ponkaew.
Nuttamon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began in a rather atypical manner. Previously, I worked as a physician, having never ventured into the realm of real estate. However, my experience as a doctor was far from fulfilling, leading me to make the difficult decision to quit. Despite my lack of background in real estate, my husband, though not a realtor himself, had always been involved in real estate investments. He suggested I give it a try, and surprisingly and gratefully, I found myself experiencing the best time of my life.
I never imagined I would be so fortunate to find a job that I truly love. It feels more like a gratifying avocation than a typical job. The joy it brings me each morning is immeasurable, and I often find myself reluctant to even sleep at night because I’m so eager to dive back in.
I find joy in continually bettering myself, acquiring new skills, and expanding my toolbox to better serve my clients. When I derive satisfaction from my work, it naturally fuels my desire to keep pushing forward, and success tends to follow suit. Satisfied clients often refer their friends and families, which I deeply appreciate. I am committed to maintaining this level of service excellence and consistently meeting and exceeding their expectations.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Transitioning wasn’t easy. However, I embraced the challenge as an opportunity for personal growth. It pushed me to acquire and refine a diverse set of skills, including negotiation, communication, project management, marketing, public speaking, and a deep understanding of people’s needs. Each transaction presented a unique puzzle to solve, which made it both exhilarating and rewarding.
What I love most about real estate is its inherent unpredictability and the constant challenge it presents. No two transactions are ever the same, and each deal pushes me to think creatively and strategize effectively to achieve the best outcomes for my clients.
One instance reflecting this commitment occurred when I chose to walk away from a deal that was set to close soon because it wasn’t in the best interest of my client. My commitment has always been and always will be to ensure that my clients receive the best possible outcome, even if it means sacrificing a paycheck that’s already within reach.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
People often perceive a realtor’s role as simply helping clients find or sell a house, but that’s merely scratching the surface. Surprisingly, FINDING a home isn’t the primary reason realtors are essential. With the accessibility of online searches, locating a property has become easier. However, it’s the art of NEGOTIATING the best terms during a purchase where the true value of a realtor shines. My passion lies in ensuring clients secure the best deal, not just in terms of price but also with favorable conditions. I thrive in this aspect and find immense joy in guiding my clients through the process, ensuring they’re well-informed and equipped to make informed decisions while mitigating any potential challenges.
Moreover, I take pride in being a certified specialist in assisting first-time home buyers and navigating probate processes. Assisting first-time buyers is particularly fulfilling; I strive to simplify the journey, infusing it with enjoyment and satisfaction. As for probate cases, which often involve extensive paperwork and time-consuming procedures, I offer steadfast support at every step, collaborating closely with legal professionals to ensure thoroughness and accuracy. Interestingly, it’s worth noting that having a will doesn’t exempt one from the probate process.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the industry encountered numerous unprecedented changes and obstacles. It became exceedingly challenging to conduct significant transactions, such as purchasing a house, without ample opportunity for in-person inspections. Similarly, preparing a property for market posed difficulties when repairs or renovations were necessary, but individuals were restricted from leaving their homes. Communication shifted from face-to-face interactions to predominantly online platforms, altering the way connections were formed and making networking more challenging.
The crisis highlighted the importance of adaptability, as those who managed to navigate the changes emerged as survivors, continuing to provide excellent service to their clients. From this crisis, I’ve learned to anticipate and embrace change, recognizing that nothing remains static indefinitely. By consistently delivering high-quality work, being resourceful, and adapting to evolving circumstances, professionals can demonstrate their dedication to clients. Clients will appreciate the effort and perseverance demonstrated, fostering enduring relationships built on trust and reliability.
