Hi Mo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started EZ-Chow in 2015, with the goal of helping restaurants with their Front-of-House Digital Ordering capabilities. I built the system for a local pizzeria in Louisville, Ky, called Boombozz Pizza. I happened to fill out their contact form, and asked a simple question, “Why didn’t they have online ordering?” They wanted online ordering but needed it integrated with their existing point-of-sale (Micros 3700 at the time). I was a former architect at Papa John’s International (corporate) and had experience developing POS (Point-of-Sale), BOH (Back-of-House), Online, CMS (Coupon Management System), and other restaurant tech (operations) solutions. I was part of the team to make Papa John’s International PJI become the first pizza chain with nationwide online ordering, hence, I understood why they needed said POS integration functionality.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Dealing with a generational event such as Covid in a “ground zero” industry such as “off-premise dining” for restaurants
Competing with larger, more capitalized competitors.
Just being a first time founder who makes mistakes, but must “Fail quickly” to have long-term success.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about EZ-Chow Inc?
We provide omni-channel digital ordering for restaurants and hospitality companies. Omni-channel includes online ordering and self-ordering kiosks perfect for QSRs (Quick Service Restaurants aka Fast Food), Fast Casual restaurants (think Blaze Pizza) or any counter-service food establishment, such as bowling alleys, event centers, and amusement parks. We work with such brands as Chick-fil-A, Copeland’s of New Orleans, Logan’s Roadhouse, Keke’s Breakfast Café, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Emory Hospital and more.
We are known for our customizations that we can allow on our platform. Previously under our v1 platform, onboarding time for a merchant could be anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks. Now, we can onboard a merchant across multiple channels in 30 minutes or less in some cases (99.99% efficiency improvement). We have the fastest to market POS integrated kiosk in the restaurant industry. In addition, we still can offer customizations using our turn-key approach to our platform. Can you share something surprising about yourself?
The most surprising aspect is that I actually don’t LOVE technology in the sense of thinking its the “greatest thing since sliced bread”. I miss the simplicity of the 90’s and early 2000’s when talking, engaging, and interacting with people was not done technologically but through traditional communication methods. I understand the need (obviously) for automation, especially in the FOH (Front-of-House, restaurant speak for the ordering and payment process or reservations, etc.) but we want to balance it with common sense approaches. For example, the F&B industry (Food and Beverage) is still at the core about hospitality.
