Taylor, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey has been shaped by resilience, faith, and a commitment to helping others. Right after high school, I was bitten by a tick and developed Lyme disease, which led to multiple autoimmune diagnoses, including Type 1 Diabetes. I went from being in great health to fighting for my life in the ICU at just 21 years old. I had a choice: surrender to my circumstances or rise above them. I chose to fight and grow into the woman I believed I was meant to become.
This theme of resilience surfaced again in 2020 while I was working with patients and preparing for medical school. I contracted COVID-19, which once again placed me in a life-or-death battle and left lasting damage on my health. The path to becoming a doctor—a lifelong dream—was suddenly blocked. It was a devastating loss, but I knew I needed to rebuild my purpose and my life. Through immense suffering, I leaned on my faith, courage, and perseverance, trusting that God had a greater plan for me.
I believe God has kept me alive through these near-death experiences for a reason: to help others navigate their own suffering. My faith has been my anchor, helping me see challenges as opportunities to grow, learn, and encourage others. Losing my dream of becoming a doctor redirected me to a new purpose—building businesses that empower patients and physicians. Resilience has been a cornerstone of both my life and my career, shaping me into someone who can contribute unique wisdom, empathy, and purpose to the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey here has not been smooth. There have been many obstacles that I have faced and learned to overcome. I’ve experienced sickness, emotional, mental, and spiritual abuse from people I’ve loved, loss of jobs due to being sick, loss of friends and relationships due to battling sickness, grief, anxiety and experiencing depression two times in my life, and walking through seasons of financial rock bottom. I am no different in the sense that each person goes through battles in their journey. But the way I am different is how I responded to these challenges. It’s taken strength beyond my own (anchoring my faith in Jesus Christ as a christian) to want to overcome hardship in life. My faith has been my victory during these battles. Knowing that I am loved by God no matter what my circumstances are, and no matter how many times I fail at something or struggle, truly gives me motivation and courage to want to overcome. It’s taken an inward journey of building not only my faith, but also emotional intelligence, mindset, and perspective. Pursuing self growth and transformation has been another key to my success. How can I help improve others’ lives if I myself am unsure of how to improve my own? Learning through workshops, sermons, prayer, books, podcasts, and wise people has helped me gain the tools to know how to overcome these battles. Working through many jobs that just weren’t the right fit to get here today, owning my own business and building others, is truly a beautiful blessing. All the challenges I faced and overcame wove the tapestry of what is my life and who I am today. I am forever grateful for the painful struggles, because it led me to my purpose, and myself.
