Conversations with Jazlyn Lowery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazlyn Lowery

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After graduating from beauty school, I moved to San Francisco with the goal of expanding my career. I worked at a few hair salons, but it wasn’t until I met a woman who introduced me to lash extensions that I found my true passion. She saw something in me and encouraged me to pursue lashing, even offering to train me. The training clicked instantly—I found the work not only satisfying but also incredibly natural for me. From that point on, I dedicated myself to mastering the craft. I spent countless hours practicing, refining my skills, and building my clientele. Over time, I gained recognition for my attention to detail and my ability to create beautiful, long-lasting lash extensions. This passion for lashing has shaped my career, and today, I’m proud to be able to share my expertise and mentor others in the industry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely had its ups and downs, but each challenge has shaped me into who I am today. I worked in San Francisco for six years, building my skills and clientele. But when the pandemic hit, I found myself in a really uncertain place—everything shut down, and I couldn’t continue working. That was a major setback, and I struggled with the uncertainty of not knowing when things would get back to normal. During that time, I also started to feel like San Francisco wasn’t where I wanted to be anymore. So, I made the bold decision to move to San Diego and start fresh. I opened my own studio with no clients and a lot of uncertainty, but I trusted in my skills and ability to rebuild. It wasn’t easy—there were moments where I doubted myself—but over time, I was able to grow my business, build a new client base, and create a space where I could truly thrive. Looking back, I realize those struggles taught me resilience and the importance of adaptability.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What I do is more than just lash extensions; it’s about helping women feel their absolute best. I’m passionate about making my clients not only look beautiful but feel beautiful, too. When I see them leave my studio with a smile, confident and glowing, that’s where I find the true reward in my work. Over the years, my clients have become more like friends, and that connection is what keeps me inspired every day.

I specialize in creating versatile lash looks, from natural and subtle to bold and glamorous, tailoring each set to suit my client’s unique style and preferences. I also offer lash lifts. What really sets me apart is my attention to detail and my commitment to lash integrity. I never compromise on the health of my clients’ natural lashes, which has helped me build long-term trust and loyalty.

Another thing I’m proud of is the environment I’ve cultivated in my studio—it’s clean, cozy, and peaceful, a place where my clients can fully relax and unwind. Creating a space that’s not just about beauty but also about relaxation and care is something I take a lot of pride in. It’s that combination of expertise, personalized care, and genuine connection that I believe makes me stand out in this industry.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m a big fan of podcasts—they’re my go-to for learning and unwinding. I love a mix of self-help, true crime, and comedy
