Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Castillo.
Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey back in 2012 when originally I went to school to be a make up artist and started doing brides, which also led to my passion for special effects and Halloween makeup. Then one day I started getting in to skincare. I had a one year-old daughter and then I began school in Marinello for Esthetician in 2013. I got my license in 2014. I jumped right into booth rental, which is extremely hard, but I worked my way to where I am today. I am super grateful to those who supported me when I first started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
From the beginning, it was super hard. I even started off by making as little as $20 a day, but I kept going and met some amazing people along the way, including my business partner that is from Norway. Lashes became my passion and I became very motivated in it as to why it brought me here today. I rented a small room shortly after that in Old Town Temecula. Then I moved into larger location with my good friend and then expanded to my own location right next door.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in lash extensions. I also train others that are looking to begin their journey in the industry. I also specialize in permanent makeup that includes lip blushing. I own my salon and I rent out boots to others that are also amazing at what they do in this beauty industry.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like how it is a small town and everyone supports each other. Our clients are amazing and they keep us going. There’s not really much to dislike about the city other than the 5 o’clock traffic ha ha ha.
