Inspiring Conversations with Alexandra Degiorgio of Alexandra Degiorgio Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Degiorgio.

Hi Alexandra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My path to becoming a health coach hasn’t been a straight line. I spent many years in corporate IT, eventually becoming a Director, but deep down, I always knew it wasn’t my true calling. After leaving that world, I followed my passion for food and hospitality and ran a successful restaurant for nearly a decade. It was my first taste of being an entrepreneur—an exciting and demanding chapter that taught me how to lead with both creativity and resilience. When my daughter was a toddler, I returned to corporate work for the stability it offered.

As a single mom balancing leadership responsibilities and motherhood, I was constantly running on adrenaline. I did what so many women do: kept pushing through, even as I started to feel less like myself. When I entered perimenopause, everything changed. I was exhausted, moody, gaining weight despite eating “right,” and struggling with brain fog and disrupted sleep. For a while, I accepted it as “normal,” but deep down I knew something was off—and that there had to be a better way.

Then, my daughter began struggling with intense stomach issues. We met with a GI specialist at a respected children’s hospital, and to my surprise, the first course of action recommended was invasive testing without any exploration of her diet, stress levels, or lifestyle habits. It was eye-opening. That experience deepened my curiosity and passion for holistic wellness. I realized how many women, and kids, are rushed through a system that often overlooks the root cause. I wanted to be part of a more compassionate, thoughtful solution.

I began my formal training by becoming a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Through that process, I learned core coaching skills and discovered that holistic health is truly multidimensional—nutrition is just one piece of the puzzle. I came to appreciate the uniqueness of each person’s path, and how powerful it is to support change through a bio-individual lens. I later added a certification as a Fast Like a Girl Coach, trained by Dr. Mindy Pelz, a world-renowned fasting expert and New York Times bestselling author, which gave me additional tools to help women reset their metabolism, support hormone balance, and reconnect with their bodies in a sustainable way. Most recently, I’ve begun a Perimenopause and Menopause certification program to deepen my expertise and provide even more comprehensive support to my clients.

Today, I specialize in supporting moms in their 40s and 50s who are navigating perimenopause and menopause. My work is all about helping women understand what’s happening in their bodies and giving them practical tools to feel better without extremes or overwhelm. I believe we deserve better education, better support, and more compassionate care in this chapter of life. This work is personal to me and it’s a privilege to walk alongside other women as they reclaim their health and thrive.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I launched my practice, I was starting from scratch. I didn’t have an existing audience, a brand, or a niche carved out. I had to build everything from the ground up including my website, social media presence, email list, and even my visual branding. While my background gave me the skills to take on many of these tasks myself, I still had a steep learning curve. I found myself enrolling in email marketing and social media courses just to keep up. I’ve worn every hat: web developer, designer, writer, video editor, strategist. It’s been incredibly rewarding, but also deeply exhausting at times.

I’ve also taken a few detours. At one point, I invested in a program to create an app with a course, thinking it was a great way to reach busy moms. And while I still believe in that vision, I realized I didn’t yet have the audience or reach to make it practical. In addition, I initially tried to focus on virtual services, but I learned through experience that building a health-focused business, especially one rooted in trust and transformation, requires personal connection. That intimacy and real-life support is essential, especially when you’re just getting started.

One of the hardest parts has been reaching the women I know I can help. Many of them are in their 40s and 50s, juggling everything from teenagers to aging parents and demanding jobs. They’re the ones carrying the invisible load for everyone else, and often, they’re too burned out to seek support. It’s been a challenge to cut through the noise and reach them in a way that feels supportive, not overwhelming. All of this, while also parenting solo, made time and energy my most limited resources.

On top of the logistics, there was the emotional challenge of putting myself out there. Sharing my voice online, showing up on camera, and positioning myself as a wellness expert—after years in corporate IT pushed me out of my comfort zone more than I expected. Like many women making big career pivots, I’ve had to navigate moments of imposter syndrome and vulnerability.

Over the past six months, working with two coaches has been a turning point. While I’d experienced coaching during my corporate career, this phase of support as an entrepreneur building a wellness practice was different. It helped me reduce the detours, clarify my direction, and make more intentional progress. It was also a powerful reminder of how transformative the right guidance can be something I now carry into my work with clients even more intentionally.

At the heart of my work is a simple truth: each woman I support in feeling more empowered and less alone affirms the purpose behind everything I do.

We’ve been impressed with Alexandra Degiorgio Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called Alexandra Degiorgio Wellness, and I specialize in supporting moms in their 40s and 50s who are navigating perimenopause and menopause. Through 1:1 coaching, group workshops, and free resources, I help women make simple, sustainable lifestyle changes that improve their energy, mood, sleep, hormone balance, and overall wellness.

What I do is rooted in education and empowerment. I believe every woman deserves to understand what’s happening in her body and to have the tools to feel better, without feeling overwhelmed or dismissed. My clients often come to me feeling like they’ve tried everything and nothing works. Together, we uncover the root causes of what’s going on and create a personalized path forward that’s actually doable within their busy lives.

I offer 1:1 coaching, a signature 30-Day Wellness Blueprint, and free resources like my 7-Day Detox for Moms in Menopause and Menopause Balance Checklist. I also partner with other wellness professionals to lead in-person workshops focused on topics like stress, fasting, and cycle syncing because personal connection and community are so essential in this stage of life.

What sets my work apart is that it’s realistic, compassionate, and deeply personal. I’ve lived this journey myself through burnout, brain fog, and sleepless nights. I know what it’s like to try to “do all the right things” and still not feel right. I don’t offer one-size-fits-all fixes. Instead, I work closely with each woman to help her better understand her body, rebuild trust in herself, and create habits that support her long-term.

What I’m most proud of is the transformation I see in my clients not just physically, but emotionally. When a woman tells me she finally feels like herself again, that she has more patience with her kids, more confidence in her decisions, or more joy in her day, that’s the win. That’s why I do this work.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The qualities that have been most important to my success are courage, empathy, curiosity, and a strong dedication to serving others.

Courage has been essential from leaving a corporate career to stepping into entrepreneurship, to putting myself out there as a wellness professional in midlife. Building a heart-centered business from the ground up requires the bravery to face uncertainty, to trust your voice, and to keep moving forward even when the next step isn’t clear.

Empathy is at the heart of everything I do. I work with women who are carrying so much like career pressures, caregiving responsibilities, changing bodies, and they need someone who listens and truly understands, not just instructs. I’ve walked a version of their path, and that helps me show up with compassion and patience, never with judgment or pressure.

Curiosity keeps me growing and learning so I can serve my clients better. I’m certified as both an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and a Fast Like A Girl Coach, and I stay engaged with the latest research and thought leaders in women’s health. I’m currently completing a Perimenopause and Menopause certification to further deepen my expertise. This ongoing learning helps me meet each woman where she is with personalized support grounded in both science and empathy.

And above all, I’m dedicated to service. I show up with a genuine desire to support, uplift, and create meaningful change. That sense of purpose is what drives my work and keeps me focused on what matters most: helping women reconnect with their bodies and thrive in midlife and beyond.
