My mom, Dr. Youngsook Lee, DACM, LA c, is a licensed acupuncturist with decades of experience in Eastern medicine, and I’m an aesthetic nurse with 9 years of experience in medical aesthetics and plastic surgery. It all started with us simply caring for each other—she helped me succeed in weight loss, manage my chronic back pain, diet and supported my health with acupuncture and holistic treatments, while I helped her maintain her youthful glow with medical skin rejuvenation therapies.
Over time, friends, family, and even strangers began to notice and would constantly ask us what we are doing for skin and health! That’s when we had our aha moment—we realized we were onto something special. What we were doing for each other was a beautiful blend of tradition and innovation, of natural healing and modern aesthetics.
That’s how our acupuncture & med spa was born. We built a space where people could experience the same balance and care that transformed our own lives- where every treatment is delivered with the same attention, love, and dedication we would show our own family. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges has been marketing. In today’s world, it’s not just about offering great services—you also have to know how to reach people, tell your story, and stand out in a crowded industry. But every challenge has pushed us to grow, both as professionals and as a team.
