Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie DiTommaso.
Hi Katie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi! Well my story started after collegiate athletics ended and I noticed as a physical therapist I started putting on some weight and even though I was working out 6 days a week I was clueless with my nutrition. I did a bikini 6 week program and got great results but didn’t learn anything about food and macros so I ended up gaining all the weight back after. I finally got so fed up that I told myself I need to make a change, enough is enough. Often in life it’s not until we reach a level of either pain or frustration that we really decide within ourselves to change. I decided to get a bodybuilding coach and signed up for a year with her. I wasn’t even planning on competing in bodybuilding but decided to get a bodybuilding coach to learn from, keep me accountable, and provide structure. As an athlete when your sport ends you need a new mission or direction and even if you aren’t an athlete every human needs purpose. Then after working with her I thought why not try a competition? After my first bodybuilding show I had a few women approaching me in the gym asking about how to train and specifically their glutes. I started helping people and writing programs and my friend said you should probably start charging people and start your own business so I did. My friend came up with the name Project Peach and I’ve been helping women with sports nutrition and personal training for aesthetics and performance since 2019 along with being a Physical Therapist since 2016. I recently added in physical therapy as an additional service in person and remote. The services provided at Project Peach include in person at my home gym or remote options for sports nutrition, personal training, pregnancy and post partum training, and physical therapy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It would be nice if progression was always linear but it’s not. Having a business is basically doing continuous personal development and growth. Last year I went through a breakup of 5 years that started me on my own healing journey from my own childhood dysfunction and experiences. I actually told my athletes I needed to take time away from Project Peach for a couple months before resuming with clients. It was hard to do but necessary in order for me to heal and evolve to better serve others. Being in business for yourself is a daily journey of surrender and trust to God and his timing. Knowing he will bring the right athletes/clients in your direction to serve.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Project Peach?
Well Project Peach is really God’s business not mine. I believe God wants me to empower women by teaching them about nutrition, training/fitness, health in order to achieve their best and what they deserve for themselves. My expertise includes a doctorate of physical therapy and I’ve been a practicing physical therapist for 10 years. I’m an ISSA certified sports nutritionist, bodybuilding specialist, and strength and conditioning coach. I also have certifications in specializing in training the female athlete and training women during pregnancy and post partum for return sport or their former fitness level. Project Peach is known for glute building hence the name, but workouts do include training for both lower body and upper body as well to develop a well rounded physique. Something that sets me apart from others would be my physical therapy background as well that brings the niche of a physical therapist and fitness trainer under one roof. What I’m most proud of would be all the female athletes I’ve worked with and their success. Seeing women go through their own transformation internally first then seeing the external results of their hard work is the coolest thing to be a part of. I like saying athletes instead of clients or patients because I do believe all the women I’ve trained are athletes. Each at different levels. Once an athlete always an athlete and how we see ourselves has a huge impact on our success. What others should know about my brand is it’s not a quick fix band aid solution. I work with women who are ready to commit for themselves to a process of transformation because they want their internal self worth to match their external. Everyone deserves to become their best self and it’s an honor to be alongside women pursuing that. Services offered at Project Peach: in person at my personal home gym, concierge, or remote options for nutrition, personal training, and physical therapy.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My faith. God is my first priority because when I fully rely on him things will work out as they need to. The plan he has for me is far greater than what I could ever imagine. I’m a Christian and Catholic and my mission is to be an example of love to others and myself.
