Hi John, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Good Evening,
Loved running growing up, had a growth spurt end of junior high school. My knees felt like they were on fire when i ran, told the Coach and he said keep running John, nothing wrong with your knees. My parents believed me and the doctor said your son has Osgood-Schlatter disease. After months of plastic casts that you fill full of air everyday the swelling went down some. That was the end of my running career.
So I really liked working on cars and made a career out of it.
in 2008 I was rear ended at a stop sign by a truck. ( 5 accidents total between 2008 to 2022 ) After all the therapy I was in a great amount of pain, the surgeon wanted to operate on my neck due to several discs have large bulges in them.
All the Doctors vehicles I repaired said Do Not do an operation on your neck. The surgeons are not very good at it. So I researched to find a fitness trainer/posture man. After about 8 months of therapy, no surgery was required due to my posture corrections.
I really enjoyed that type of work and started developing my own style to help society with injuries where conventional treatments didn’t help.
In 2015 a High Level trainer told me ” You have a Gift from God John and you have to do this work”. I got to travel with a UFC fighter and that was a good experience. I have been helping alot of youth athletes from 9 to 16 years old, they had exhausted all other treatments, Orthopedic Surgeon’s treatment plans, Physical Therapy facilities, etc. They are all back to there careers now.
Several years ago I went to the La Jolla Wellness Institute to get some shoulder treatment with a Shock Wave style machine, during my time there I was invited to see if I was able to help some of there clients and the rest is history.
I’m a very grateful man, didn’t even know I had this gift, just wanted to be helpful to those in pain. All the years in pain treatment facilities , surgeons offices I got to know lots of other patients. A very common factor after there surgeries the were still in alot of physical pain even though the joints/disc were in there proper place.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road was very tough, being self employed when you’ve had 5 devastating accidents. There is no financial income coming in. You get great survival skills out of it.
I learned how to overcome great adversity, adapt and overcome any and all situations. I got to the point when something bad happened I would be overcome with Great Joy knowing God was taking care of me. I learned not only to embrace pain but thrive in it.
One San Diego’s Top Surgeon’s gave me the wrong cancer treatment, when I woke up in the emergency room my doctor stated John your case is so complex you have a high risk for morbidity and or mortality. “My Great Internal Medicine Doctor said John your problem is when these doctors tell you you have to do something you believe them”.
Don’t have enough room to list all the bumps in the road.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Human Body Works?
Almost all my clients have exhausted all conventional treatment. I do Intuitive Healing, that means I get messages from God as I’m treating clients what to do and almost as important what to say.
What sets me apart is I genuinely care about all my clients and if it’s over my capabilities I tell them right away. Over the years I have many different Health Care Providers that are highly specialized and I send them to get another opinion. I have not given up on a client even when they have given up on me.
Also I have more time to spend with my clients, we do lots of problem solving together when they are on my table getting healed. The Navy Bud’s in San Diego changed my name to ” Elbows of God”. Brand wise I’m proud of my 3 number 7’s right above my logo. There are 700 times 7 blessings in the Bible. Also if my clients don’t do there homework I will stop treating them. I love the lightning bolt thru the center on my logo.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Seek out others that are way smarter than yourself and learn from them. You cannot learn when you busy talking. Be the last one to talk in any group/ conference, etc. You may be ready to Yell out your answer when you think your going to impress the entire room and the speaker hasn’t even completed his or her comment and or question. Silence and listening are better that any gold or silver in business relationships.
