Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Somoza.
Hi Alexis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My indie pop music project emerged in 2021, of which I am the composer. Since then, we have released a 5-song EP titled “0721.” We are currently promoting the new single titled “Telepatico,” which was produced by the vocalist of one of my favorite Mexican bands called “Camilo Septimo.” The short- and medium-term plan is to continue doing live shows both in Tijuana and throughout the interior of the republic in Mexico, and why not? Maybe in the USA.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a path with many satisfactions but at the same time with many challenges and difficult moments because nowadays independent bands do not only have to dedicate themselves to making music, they are involved in many more activities that can sometimes wear down the core of the band, but above all we are still willing to continue making music and reaching people’s hearts.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an industrial engineer, although my passion lies in music, I believe that is what makes me different from most of my colleagues. I love my professional career and it has given me the opportunity to create my music and my dreams.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Having dreams makes me happy, daydreaming, having a reason to get up every day and that reason is music, because it makes me think that everything is possible.
