Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadin Benrey.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a bilingual National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach with a very personal story of transformation and a big passion for helping others live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I’m married, have three grown kids, and three wonderful grandchildren—family is one of the most important parts of my life.
I’m originally from Mexico City and spent over 25 years working as a graphic designer before my life took an unexpected turn. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer and two autoimmune diseases, I knew I had to make some real changes. I started exercising regularly, eating a more balanced diet, and spending more meaningful time with my loved ones. Those changes made a huge difference in my recovery—and gave me a brand-new sense of purpose.
That’s what led me into the world of health and wellness. I earned my Master of Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching from the Maryland University of Integrative Health and went through extensive professional training to be able to support others on their own journeys.
For the past nine years, I’ve worked with people of all ages—in both English and Spanish—through my private practice, the Diabetes Prevention Program, senior and community centers, corporate wellness programs, and nonprofit organizations.
I also teach and develop programs as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of California, San Diego, helping to train the next generation of wellness professionals.
My mission is simple: to help people take charge of their health, find balance, and thrive—starting from wherever they are. I believe well-being isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress, self-awareness, and making choices that truly work for your unique life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My transformation as a Health Coach has been an amazing journey—full of ups, downs, and countless growth opportunities. Building a private practice hasn’t been easy. Some months are full of clients, while others are much quieter. Over time, I’ve learned that what I enjoy most is diversifying my work. I teach, I coach, and I mentor—and this combination is truly rewarding.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for?
I work with individuals and groups in both English and Spanish, specializing in empowering clients to make meaningful, lasting changes in their health and lifestyle. My practice spans private coaching, teaching, and mentoring. I’m also an Adjunct Instructor and Program Developer at the University of California San Diego, where I help train the next generation of wellness professionals.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my combination of personal experience, professional expertise, and diverse offerings. I bring a unique blend of empathy, cultural understanding, and evidence-based strategies to my work. I know what it’s like to start from a place of challenge, and I guide my clients with compassion and practical tools tailored to their individual needs.
What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc.?
My business is about meeting people where they are and empowering them to move toward where they want to be, without pressure for perfection. I offer private coaching, group programs, and professional mentorship for aspiring coaches. Whether it’s in a one-on-one session, a classroom, or a community program, my goal is always the same: to help people create balance, build self-awareness, and thrive.
