Meko Bowden on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Meko Bowden and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Meko, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
That training is a service and not a free workout. You don’t go to the barbershop and just walk out with a freed haircut. You pay whoever cut your hair. This goes the same for training you pay your trainer.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Meko I’m a San Diego certified personal trainer, I have been coaching for 7 years. I’m working on building and making a profitable training business so I can live financially free and be able to take care of my family.

The name of my brand is MekoGainz and Gainz For Life is my tag name. What makes my brand unique is that you make Gainz every day in all aspects of life not just in fitness.

At the moment I’m working on building my network for my brand and expanded it on all social platforms and my clothing brand Gainz For Life.

I have been into fashion since my mom introduced me to it as little kid and now as an adult I can express myself through fitness and fashion.

Stay tuned to what I have next for the future.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I got sent to the trauma center as a young adult drinking and letting my guard down around people I thought had my back. It taught me to never let my guard down again and be aware of my surroundings.

But it was also a wake up call for me to follow my passion as a personal trainer.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
My mother she was my everything.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Nipsey Hussle because he came from similar background and he was passionately driven in his career.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m at the gym, I did a good deed , and I made some money to take care of those I love or myself.
