Khrissa Devon’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Khrissa Devon. Check out our conversation below.

Khrissa, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
6:00AM morning wake up, workout/10k steps in, work 7:30am-5:00pm PT, late afternoon walk/errand time, dinner and relax, sleep by 9:30 PM

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Khrissa Devon and I am a San Diego Native. I have always enjoyed being in front of the camera and filming/highlighting my day to day life. I love meeting new people and finding new and upcoming spots here in San Diego. I am always looking for ways to learn, grow, and connect with others. I value hard work, kindness, and bringing a positive energy into everything I do. I care a lot about the people in my life, and believe in making the most out of every moment.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My Grandpa taught me the most about work because he led by example. He showed me that hard work isn’t just about effort- its about pride in what you do, doing it with integrity, and never cutting corners. I watched him put in the time, stay committed, and never complain- no matter the circumstances. He made me see that work isn’t just a job, it’s a reflection of your character.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I would say the fear of caring too much about what people think of me has held me back the most in my life during numerous opportunities. I have decided to be my true authentic self and to not allow the opinion of other’s to stop me from what I want to do. I have too many amazing people in my life who support me and know me. I have realized that mode people are too busy thinking about themselves to focus on me as much as I think they are. Our brains overestimate how much others notice and judge us. Realizing this can instantly reduce the weight of their opinions. The more you follow through on promises to yourself, the more your brain sees your opinion as the one that matters most. Self-respect is the antidote to external validation.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public me is definitely part of the real me- just not all of me. Think of it like a book: what you see is the cover and a few chapters, but the rest of the story is deeper and more personal.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, praise is temporary, but the satisfaction of knowing you gave your all stays with you. I would rather surprise myself than wait around for a gold star.
