Sydney Troxell’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Sydney Troxell shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Sydney, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
As of lately, the go-to of the first 90 minutes of my morning starts with a tall glass of water and movement. Throw on a workout set, go on a walk or run and pop on an entrepreneurial driven podcast to get inspired.
There’s something about the energy at the dawn of morning that absorbs information like no other time of day. As an entrepreneur, you’re your own accountability partner—so building a routine that fuels learning and keeps your energy sharp is essential. There’s something rejuvenating about using this time to move your body and fuel your mind—it’s like a breath of fresh air, but better.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Born July 4, 1996—a bright soul with a free spirit and a deep love for capturing the moment.
The Syd Trox creative identity really started when I was just a kid, making home movies and music videos on camcorders and tape, letting my imagination run wild on this magical street called Newcastle in the suburbs of Southern California. I grew up in that classic ’90s cul-de-sac life—neighbors who felt like siblings, rollerblades, big wheels (iykyk), sidewalk chalk, and the freedom to just be. That era shaped a strong foundation for me.

My brand and creative eye is rooted in those early days. From Rugrats and Rocket Power to Lizzie McGuire and Zoey 101—a one of a kind y2k style that’s the perfect mix of nostalgia and futuristic… I’m obsessed.

SAUCEGIRL came to life because I’ve literally always been the one asking for extra sauce. Ranch. Aioli. Spread from In-N-Out (cmon it’s the best). You name it—I go all in. In food, in fun, in life. If I’m showing up, I’m showing up fully—with heart, with color, and with extra sauce.
Art should feel like an experience hence the dipped in fun, dripping in energy, and drenched in color tagline 😉
To me, that means saying yes to what lights you up. Making content that feels alive. Dressing like a walking mood board. Finding the beauty in everyday chaos. It’s about bringing that bold, playful energy into everything—whether it’s a video edit, a laugh with your best friends, or chasing sunset light just because it’s pretty.

That’s the SAUCEGIRL way. Full flavor. Full expression. No holding back.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
One thing I’ll always be grateful for is having parents who truly believed in me.

Now—my situation wasn’t exactly “normal”… but what even is normal, anyway?
My parents separated when I was six. And while that could easily be framed as something heavy, it really wasn’t. Sure, there were challenges—but growing up between two different worlds, both unique and beautifully aligned, helped shape me into the person I am today: socially equipped, spiritually grounded, fiercely independent, and endlessly optimistic.

Both my mom and my dad always encouraged whatever I set my mind to. Whether it was selling hair bows between softball games or performing in musical theater, they were always there cheering me on. Their belief was steady, even when the vision was wild.
Because of them, I grew up knowing that if I could imagine it, I could create it—and honestly, that mindset has carried me ever since.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Thank you for being true to your spirit, evolving with authenticity. Your life is a soul-written journey, unfolding exactly as it’s meant to be.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Inspiring others to find, see, and pursue their light. Encouraging people to tap into what makes them feel most alive. It’s about helping them recognize their unique spark—and reminding them they’re worthy of chasing it. When we live in our light, we naturally give others permission to do the same.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
She believed in her magic—because she knew it came from within.
It was in the way she saw the world, in the way she created art from the ordinary, and in the way she chose paths guided by instinct, not approval.

She loved to be a light. To uplift. To inspire. To remind others that their magic lives within, too.
