Today we’d like to introduce you to YAJI Tramontini.
Hi YAJI, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey to become a Psychotherapist began with a struggle to overcome my own trauma. I was born to hippie parents who taught me a lot about creativity and freedom, but not always about being nurtured or cared for in tangible ways. As a kid, that left me feeling adrift, and I spiraled into phases of depression and self-destruction.
What changed the course of my life was having counselors and therapists who truly saw me and extended compassion when I needed it most. Their presence not only helped me heal—it also planted the seed that one day I wanted to give back what had been given to me. That led me to study Psychology and Philosophy after an early start in Engineering at Boston University, and eventually to earn my master’s in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology at Sofia University, a program known for bridging science and spirituality.
Since becoming a licensed therapist in 2008, I’ve continued to expand my work, integrating EMDR, NLP, Hypnotherapy, Somatic Awareness, HeartMath HRV Biofeedback, Psychosynthesis, Yoga, Tantra, Reiki, and Reunification Coaching—alongside deeper energetic and consciousness practices. My strength is helping relationships get back on track—whether between couples, families, or within the self. This is integrated with what I have come to realize is the most powerful and effective change anyone can make: to truly be self-aware, self-accepting, and self-loving. From this place, relationships just make more sense.
This isn’t just a profession for me—it’s a soul-led path. Today, whether I’m supporting individuals, couples, or parents and children, my mission is to provide a heart-centered, structured, and transformative space rooted in self-love, where people can reconnect with their own clarity, truth, and strength—which naturally leads to stronger connections to everything and everyone else, including source (our deeper spiritual connection).
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a straight shot. I started as an engineering major at Boston University, then shifted to Psychology. My curiosity led me to pursue a double major in Psychology and Philosophy, but just as I was getting ready to graduate, I realized I wasn’t emotionally ready to help others. At that time, I was still too sensitive and overwhelmed by my own emotions to be able to hold space for someone else.
So, I pivoted. I got my real estate salesperson’s license and spent three years selling and renting property in Boston’s Back Bay before moving into property management. In my late 20s, though, I felt called back to my true path. I was fortunate enough to live just one mile from Sofia University—the school of my dreams—and I knew it was time to return to the work I was meant to do.
Becoming a psychotherapist is truly a labor of love. After thousands of dollars invested in both undergrad and graduate school, the next step is often years of internships and low-paid or even unpaid positions. I was lucky to land a part-time job as a property manager during that time, which helped me support myself while gaining the clinical experience I needed.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Love Therapy Center is my private practice where I work primarily with couples, individuals, and families online. What sets my work apart is the truly holistic approach I bring—I don’t just focus on the surface-level communication struggles or symptoms. I integrate evidence-based methods like EMDR, somatic awareness, and HeartMath biofeedback with deeper practices that address the nervous system, the unconscious mind, and even the spiritual dimension of healing.
I’m especially known for helping relationships get back on track—whether that’s couples on the verge of breaking up, parents and children struggling with disconnection, or individuals trying to repair the relationship they have with themselves. Over time, I’ve developed a structured process called The Love Therapy Method, which is based on self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love being the foundation of everything else. Being truly self-aware, self-accepting, and self-loving naturally leads to being better partners, parents, and leaders in your own life.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is that Love Therapy Center reflects not just a business, but a philosophy: that love begins within. When clients learn to come home to themselves, their external relationships transform. I want readers to know that the work we do isn’t just about “fixing problems”—it’s about creating lasting, heart-centered change that integrates mind, body, and spirit.
Alongside the practice, I also founded Love Therapy Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to educating families and professionals and advocating for more compassionate approaches in the family court and mental health systems. Together, both the practice and the foundation are rooted in the same mission: to heal individuals and families through the power of self-love and conscious connection.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
