Meet Betsy Lane’s Art in Bay Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Betsy Lane.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Betsy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Betsy Lane Art Consultants create art collections in collaboration with design teams and art collectors worldwide. Our projects include hospitality, residential, retail, developments, and corporate. Each project is unique and we listen to the client’s needs as we define the functional and aesthetic requirements for the space.

I began as a glass artist and had several art galleries in San Diego in the 1990’s and in 2004 begin a sculpture garden with Stephanie Parisi in Del Mar. Stephanie sold the property after 8 years and I began curating sculpture garden at the Four Seasons Aviara. During this time, I began art consulting. I have been fortunate to work with many talented design teams and private clients

Has it been a smooth road?
Our projects have provided many unique challenges and we always welcome new art directions. We’ve had fun through the years from selecting sculptures for the Tiffany Windows in Beverly Hills and San Diego to providing art for Hotels in China with the world-renowned design firm Hirsch Bedner. Garden Communities has been a huge support for us and have included large sculptures in courtyards and public spaces making all their neighborhoods look like you’re at a sculpture museum or garden Our goal is to give each space a fresh and timeless look. The best clients understand the importance of art and the impact on the space

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are known for sculpture, public art, and original pieces. We understand that art needs to be lived with and deliver the work to give the client one week to live with the piece. There’s a comfort level to knowing if a piece is going to work and we want the client to be certain that they want to purchase the art.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Inspiration, innovation, imagination, freedom of expression, and freedom to experiment without having to worry about traditional rules provides a diversity that helps my clients discover their own artistic voice and taste.
