We’re looking forward to introducing you to Beatriz Cabrera. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Beatriz, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I would say integrity, because to me, it represents the core of who a person truly is. Someone with integrity is honest, consistent, and trustworthy—no matter when they are being observed. I also believe that integrity often reflects deeper qualities like emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and a strong, positive presence. It’s a value I try to uphold in both my personal and professional life
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Beatriz Cabrera. I’ve been practicing architecture since 2001, and what I love most about it is helping clients bring their vision to life. I really care about the people I work with, and I always try to provide the best service possible, making sure their needs come first. I also love to travel, and I’m always on the lookout for fresh ideas and inspiration wherever I go. I’m a lifelong learner, so I enjoy staying current with new design trends and continuously finding ways to grow in my work
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My grandfather taught me the most about work. To this day, he’s the hardest-working person I’ve ever known. I remember him waking up at 5 a.m. every day, taking a cold shower, and heading straight to work. He owned a few grocery stores in a small town in Mexico, and through his dedication and discipline, he was able to build a small fortune and invest in properties. He’s always been a huge inspiration to me. He used to tell me, ‘Whatever you do, always strive to be the best at it’ — and that’s something I’ve carried with me throughout my career
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me the difference between faith and delusion. There was a time when I was overly optimistic to the point of being unrealistic — I used to believe everything would always work out perfectly, almost like I had a ‘walk-on-water’ mindset. But life doesn’t always go according to plan, and when it didn’t, I was forced to face reality. That experience humbled me. It taught me that real faith isn’t about pretending things will always go your way — it’s about staying grounded in truth, and finding strength even when things are uncertain or difficult
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, pretty much, what you see is what you get.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. I believe you should always give your best, regardless of whether there’s praise or recognition. When you give your all, you walk away with the personal satisfaction of knowing you upheld your own standards. That kind of integrity stays with you — and in the long run, it matters more than any external reward. You never regret doing your best
