Ashleigh Ha shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Ashleigh, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
What brings me joy lately is the peace and contentment I have in my life. For the past 23 years, my greatest role has been being a mom. Now that my children are grown and self-sufficient, I find myself entering a new season. One filled with purpose, gratitude, and passion. I am incredibly blessed to have not just one, but two careers I am truly passionate about. As a full time aesthetician at a medical spa in Poway, CA, I get to help clients feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing someone light up with self-assurance and confidence. At the same time, as a wedding planner/coordinator, I have the privilege of being a part of life’s most cherished moments. From “yes” to “I do”, I help couples create memories from the beginning to their Together Ever After.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello!! My name is Ashleigh, and I am an Asian American Wedding Planner/Coordinator based right here in sunny San Diego, California. It’s such an honor to be celebrating the third anniversary of my business, Together Ever After Events, with the readers of San Diego Voyager.
If you had asked me three years ago whether I would be where I am today on this business journey, I probably would’ve said, “No way!”, but thanks to the unwavering support and trust of my amazing clients, fueled by word-of-mouth referrals, I am here growing stronger and more inspired with each couple I work with. The blossoming of Together Ever After Events was rooted in two things I hold close to my heart: a deep belief in love, and a lifelong dream of owning my own business. Before launching my own company, I worked as a coordinator for a catering company. I loved every opportunity I had to go beyond food and dig into the details that made each event seamless and beautiful. That passion naturally evolved into the creation of Together Ever After Events.
Now, three years in, I feel more grateful than ever to be part of my clients’ most cherished moments, helping to create weddings that are seamless, joyful, and deeply personal. Love lives through the creation of beautiful memories from the beginning to your together ever after.
Here’s to many more love stories to come!!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
A misunderstanding can quietly unravel even the strongest bonds. We’ve all felt it with family, friends, or our business partners. It doesn’t always come with loud arguments or harsh words. More often, it’s found in the silence; the moments when we stop listening, when assumptions take the place of honest questions. Wounds begin to form when we feel unseen or unheard, and when those feelings linger, unspoken distance takes root.
I believe bonds can be mended with intention, an apology, with forgiveness, and above all, with love. What’s broken can be restored. Restoration isn’t instant. It’s slow, sacred work. It asks for patience, consistency, and for a shared belief that people can grow, that connections can be healed. With genuine intention, even the most fractured relationships can find their way back to wholeness.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“I am enough”
Looking back at my younger days, I realize I was hard on myself. Nothing I did was good enough. I lived my life for what others thought of me, constantly seeking approval, but the more I sought, the more lost I felt. Now i understand that It’s okay to be perfectly imperfect. I have learned to accept my weaknesses along with my strengths. While I don’t have an answer for everything, I am learning and that’s okay. It’s acceptable to say no, as I shouldn’t have to try to please everyone.
I have found more happiness and peace since I allowed myself to be enough.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
He was a man who didn’t say much, but when he spoke, I listened. That man is my grandpa whom I admire and respect tremendously. Back in my motherland, my grandpa would sometimes take me along on his business trips. Observing him, I learned at a tender age about the business world. Grandpa was a firm, kind, and selfless man. He ingrained in me what good work ethic means. Through his kindness, strong work ethic, and dedication he earned respect from everyone everywhere he went. Most of my business practice is what I learned from him. I am sure he is looking from above and is very proud of me.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I believe that my clients would miss my sincerity, my kindness, and above all, my warmth. From the moment we meet, I feel they can feel my warm presence and genuine care. Over time, my clients have come to trust that I always have their best interest at heart. I go above and beyond to serve them. Not because I have to, but because I truly care. They know I give 110% of myself in every interaction, and that’s something they’ve come to count on.
