An Inspired Chat with Melissa Bernard of Pacific Beach

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Melissa Bernard. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Melissa, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
For me, integrity comes before intelligence or energy. It’s the foundation of trust, credibility, success, and strong values. Intelligence can impress and energy can inspire, but without integrity, they lose direction. Integrity is what keeps everything grounded, aligned, and meaningful.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Melissa Bernard. I am the owner of Lavish Divine Skincare, where I have been serving clients for over 10 years. As a licensed aesthetician, I specialize in creating customized skincare treatments that not only enhance skin health but also provide a sense of relaxation and confidence. What makes Lavish Divine unique is my belief that skincare is more than just a service—it’s an experience. Every treatment is designed to be personal, intentional, and results-driven, blending advanced techniques with a nurturing touch.

My journey began with a passion for helping people feel their best, inside and out. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of building lasting relationships with my clients while continuously learning and evolving in the ever-changing world of skincare. Right now, I’m focused on bringing fresh, seasonal skincare solutions, staying on top of the latest trends, and educating clients on how to achieve radiant, healthy skin year-round.

At Lavish Divine Skincare, it’s not just about products or procedures—it’s about empowering people to feel confident in their skin. That’s the heart of my story, and the reason I love what I do.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The most important relationship I’ve had is the one with myself. It has shaped me into the woman I am today. Learning to respect, trust, and love myself hasn’t always been easy, but it’s given me the foundation needed to build meaningful relationships, confidence, resilience, and courage to pursue my passions. This relationship sets the tone for how I show up in every other part of life.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Giving up is not an option for me. Every challenge I face is an opportunity to grow stronger,

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, I am authentically me. I’ve learned that being authentic feels better than trying to fit into anyone else’s idea of who I should be. It’s very liberating

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I only had 10 years left to live, I would stop wasting time on things that do not matter.. and I definitely wouldn’t let too much time pass between vacations.
