We’re looking forward to introducing you to Carli Castro. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Carli, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
An average day for me starts with reading my Bible or spending time with God before heading off to Bible college during the week. From there, my days are usually a mix of creativity and connection—I might be out on a photoshoot, editing content, or creating posts for social media teams. Evenings often look like spending time with friends, whether that’s hanging out, worshipping together, or just enjoying community. Every day feels full but purposeful, balancing my passion for photography, ministry, and relationships.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Carli, a photographer and creative based in Orange County. Beyond photography, I’m also a Bible college student, so faith is a big part of both my life and my work. My brand is really about capturing authentic, meaningful moments—whether that’s weddings, portraits, or creative shoots—and creating content that feels alive and true to the people in front of the camera. What makes my work unique is that I don’t just see it as photography; I see it as storytelling and even ministry in a way. Right now, I’m working on growing my photography business, collaborating with social media teams, and using my creativity to serve both clients and my church community.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
I’d say my work ethic comes from my dad. He’s had his own business my entire life, and he’s the most hardworking person I know. The level of sacrifice he’s made is incredible, and just watching him taught me so much about dedication and perseverance. At the same time, my mom homeschooled me and my siblings our whole lives, and that took an incredible amount of commitment too. Seeing both of my parents pour themselves into their work and into our family definitely shaped the way I approach my own work today.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me something that success never could, that God is always with me, even in the hardest moments. Through those seasons, I’ve learned perseverance, I’ve discovered a deeper capacity within myself, and I’ve seen firsthand that God never fails. Success can be encouraging, but it’s in the suffering that my faith was strengthened and I gained the kind of resilience I can carry into every challenge that comes my way.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
The ideas I rely on most that aren’t my own come from my faith and the people closest to me. The Bible shapes the way I see life and work, it gives me principles that guide my decisions. Beyond that, I lean on wisdom from my parents and mentors who have walked ahead of me. Their perspective helps me see things differently and keeps me grounded when I’m navigating new opportunities or challenges.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say and see that faith was in my DNA, but also that I lived in a way that showed you have to activate it. More than anything, I’d want my life to stand as a testimony, because there’s real power in a testimony. If my story can point people back to God and encourage them to step into their own faith, then that’s the legacy I’d want to leave.
As Charlie Kirk once said, “I want to be remembered for courage for my faith; that would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith.”
