Hidden Gems: Meet Samantha Peters of Light Up Your Life

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Peters.

Hi Samantha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story really began when I was teaching full-time, bartending on the weekends, and feeling like I was living just to work. I loved helping people, but deep down I knew I was meant for something more, something that would allow me to grow, to feel fulfilled, and to actually create the life I dreamed about instead of watching it pass me by.

Everything changed the day a complete stranger reached out with an opportunity to join a network marketing company. At first, I was terrified. It was new, uncomfortable, and nothing I ever imagined myself doing. But I also knew that if I didn’t take a leap of faith, I would stay exactly where I was burnt out, exhausted, and unfulfilled.

So I said yes.

That single yes became the turning point of my life.

Network marketing wasn’t the destination for me, but it was the foundation. It’s where I learned the tools, skills, leadership, and mindset that changed everything. It was where I was introduced to personal development, manifestation, identity work, and what it truly means to rewrite your story.

From that journey came the confidence and clarity to start my podcast, Light Up Your Life.
To start my own business.
To write my eBooks and journals.
To step into speaking.
To build a platform centered around healing, empowerment, and stepping into your highest potential.

Today, as an author, speaker, podcast host, and founder of Light Up Your Life LLC, I help others do the very thing I had to do myself: break free from generational trauma, rewire their mindset, and create a life they’re actually excited to wake up to.

What makes this work so meaningful is that it’s personal. I’ve lived the struggle. I’ve felt stuck. I’ve taken the scary leap. And now I get to show others what’s possible when you choose courage over comfort.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. My journey has been filled with challenges that shaped me long before I ever stepped into the work I do today.

Growing up, I had to figure out almost everything on my own. I didn’t come from stability, guidance, or emotional support. My home environment was deeply toxic, my father struggled with alcoholism, both of my parents were on social security disability, and I learned early on how to survive in chaos rather than thrive in safety.

As I got older, new challenges surfaced. My brother began struggling with drugs and alcohol, and watching someone you love battle addiction brings a heavy emotional weight. It added stress, fear, and responsibility that I carried while still trying to support myself and build a future.

Throughout all of this, I often felt unlovable, unseen, and like I had to constantly prove my worth just to feel enough. But even with all the pain and instability, I refused to become a victim of my circumstances. I made a decision that my environment would not define my identity or dictate my future.

Still, the hardest part of my journey wasn’t the external chaos it was the internal healing.
Rewiring my subconscious programming from lack, unworthiness, and scarcity took tremendous strength. Breaking generational patterns and choosing a completely different path required me to unlearn everything I grew up believing about myself and what was possible for my life.

No, the road wasn’t smooth. But every struggle shaped my purpose.
Every moment I refused to let my past define me brought me closer to becoming the woman I am today and to helping others realize they can become the hero of their story, too.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Light Up Your Life is the culmination of my personal journey and my passion for helping others transform their lives. The brand started with growing my team in network marketing, leading 1:1 goal-setting and coaching sessions, hosting team calls, and bringing on world-renowned leaders to mentor and guide my team. Through this work, I realized my true gift, helping people develop the mindset, skills, and confidence to step into their potential.

That experience inspired me to give back because growing up, I didn’t have mentors or role models to look up to. I wanted to create the guidance and support I lacked, so others could have the tools and encouragement to succeed. This led to the creation of The Light Up Your Life Podcast, where I now interview highly successful people from all over the world. My goal with the podcast is to provide my audience with actionable strategies, insights, and inspiration to overcome challenges and achieve personal and professional success.

Over time, Light Up Your Life evolved into a full movement. Beyond the podcast, the brand now includes a supportive women’s community, educational resources, journals, eBooks, and speaking engagements. What sets my brand apart is that it’s rooted in real experience and transformation. I’ve faced my own challenges, rewired my mindset, and now use those lessons to help others break free from limiting beliefs, overcome trauma, and step confidently into their power.

I’m most proud of the impact the brand has had, seeing women in my community reclaim their confidence, embrace their worth, and take bold action toward their dreams. What I want people to know is that Light Up Your Life is about actionable transformation, not just inspiration. My mission is to provide the mentorship, tools, and support needed for women everywhere to create a life that truly reflects their limitless potential.

What sets my brand apart is that it’s rooted in lived experience. I’ve faced toxic environments, self-doubt, scarcity, and limiting beliefs, and I’ve learned how to rewire my mindset to create a life I truly love. I use that journey to show others that their past does not define them and that anyone can achieve personal and professional growth when they commit to it.

I’m most proud of the community we’ve built and the tangible impact it has on women’s lives. From seeing women reclaim their confidence to hearing stories of transformation from my podcasts, journals, and coaching programs, it’s incredibly rewarding to witness women step into their power. The brand has also gained significant media attention for its focus on manifestation, self-love, mindfulness, and personal development. Through multiple TV news segments and expert features, I’ve been able to reach and inspire even more people with the tools and practices that changed my own life.

At its core, Light Up Your Life is about authenticity, empowerment, and transformation. It’s not about perfection. It’s about taking real steps to heal, grow, and thrive. My goal is to help women everywhere recognize their worth, embrace their strength, and create lives that reflect the limitless potential they’ve always had within them.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was incredibly independent, mostly because I had to be. I learned very early to rely on myself, to problem‑solve, and to stay strong even in environments that didn’t always feel safe, supportive, or nurturing. I spent a lot of time observing people, trying to understand emotions, and trying to make sense of the chaos around me. That made me both deeply intuitive and mature for my age.

At the same time, I was a very driven and creative kid. I poured myself into anything that gave me structure, expression, or a healthy outlet. I was in gymnastics for years, and it became one of the places where I learned discipline, focus, and the power of pushing through fear. I also played the flute, which fed my love for creativity, rhythm, and the feeling of getting lost in something bigger than myself.

Even with everything I was navigating emotionally feeling unlovable at times, trying to prove my worth, and surviving circumstances that could’ve easily broken me, I always had this spark inside me. I loved creating things, setting goals, dreaming big, and imagining a different future for myself. I was that kid who didn’t wait for permission; I just built, imagined, and tried things, because deep down I believed there had to be more for me.

Those qualities, independence, creativity, resilience, and an inner fire to rise above my circumstances are the same ones that shaped the woman I am today and the impact I now make through Light Up Your Life.
