Mike , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Every day for me is about laughter and good vibes. Running Aall in Limo, I get to see clients and our team enjoying themselves while we make their special events run smoothly. Recently, one of our drivers handled a tricky downtown wedding pickup with such calm and humor that the whole party was cracking up in the limo. Moments like that make me proud of our team and remind me why I love this business: we’re not just driving people around, we’re creating joyful experiences.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Mike, the owner and operator of Aall In Limo & Party Bus in San Diego. We provide luxury limousine transportation for weddings, parties, corporate events, and unique experiences such as wine and brewery tours. What makes us special is that we don’t just drive people around; we create memorable, fun experiences with a personal touch in every detail.
The idea for the business actually came in 2005. I wanted to leave the mortgage industry, and one night I attended a poker event. I ended up winning big that night, and while celebrating, I saw a limo drive by, filled with people laughing and enjoying themselves, with the driver smiling behind the wheel. Something just clicked—I wanted to create that kind of joy for people. I used my winnings to buy my first limo, went “all in,” and have been building Aall In Limo & Party Bus ever since.
Every day, it’s about bringing people together, creating unforgettable experiences, and having fun while doing it.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Honestly, my clients have taught me the most about work. The daily interactions, the celebrations, the chaos, the last-minute changes, the laughs—have shaped how I run this business more than anything else. They show me what great service really means: being flexible, patient, reliable, and genuinely present. Every group that steps into one of our limos teaches me something new about people, about hospitality, and about how important it is to create moments they’ll remember. My clients are the reason I keep improving every day.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
The people who truly listened to me were my parents. When I told them I wanted to leave the mortgage industry and start a limo company—something completely different—they didn’t brush it off or tell me it was unrealistic. They sat with me, really listened, and asked what I wanted my life to look like. They heard the excitement in my voice, not the risk. Their support and confidence gave me the courage to go all in, buy that first limo, and build Aall In Limo & Party Bus from the ground up. Knowing they believed in me made all the difference.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
For the most part, yes. What people see – the friendly guy who loves to joke around, stay positive, and make sure everyone is having a good time—that’s really me. I built Aall In Limo & Party Bus on that energy. But there’s also a quieter side of me that clients don’t always see: the early mornings, the late nights, the attention to every detail so their experience is perfect. The public version of me is real, but the behind-the-scenes version is the one making sure everything runs smoothly. Both are part of who I am.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I was someone who cared—really cared. That I treated people with respect, that I worked hard, and that I brought a little joy into their lives. I’d love for them to remember the guy who showed up, who kept his word, who made their celebrations better, and who always tried to put a smile on someone’s face. If the story people tell is that I built a business rooted in honesty, kindness, and good energy, then that’s more than enough for me.
