Good morning Lexie , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, what’s been bringing me so much joy lately is staying rooted in my community. After moving from the Philippines, I’ve always longed for that sense of connection, people who feel like home, spaces that bring us closer, moments that remind me that I belong. So when I’m not editing a video or working on a project, I’m out supporting small businesses, connecting with local creatives, or curating immersive experiences through Ladies Who, the collective I co-founded with
Kez Sinoro (@lwf_floraldesign).
A recent highlight from Ladies Who was Pixels & Petals 2.0: A Filipino American Celebration of Style & Culture, our pop-up market and fashion show held on October 26, 2025 in Skylight venue (@skylight_venue) located in Hillcrest, San Diego. It was a beautiful blend of heritage, creativity and community, and it was especially meaningful to put a spotlight on Filipina women and our stories in such a meaningful and affirming way. It was one of those moments where I paused and thought, “Wow… we really built this.” Another proud moment was when the very first Pixels & Petals was featured on local FOX News.
Beyond events, I also found joy in slowing down and unplugging during the holidays. Taking time to reset, be present with loved ones, and celebrate traditions has been incredibly grounding. I have been learning to reward myself with experiences instead of material things, choosing presence over collecting more. Those simple, quiet moments have become just as meaningful as the big creative ones, and they fill me up in a way that helps me return to my work with intention and heart.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Lexie! I’m a true creative at heart, fueled by passion, purpose, and the thrill of turning bold ideas into reality. I’ve spent the last 10+ years capturing stories that feel real, warm, and rooted in connection. I’m big on authenticity, community, and following the spark – the things that pull you out of your comfort zone and into your purpose.
My work is all about connection, storytelling and community.
That’s also what inspired me to co-found Ladies Who, a creative collective built for women, by women. It’s a space where collaboration comes before competition and where creatives, makers, and small businesses can feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
As a Filipina who moved to the U.S. and out of her comfort zone, I’ve poured my heart into creating spaces that uplift small businesses, celebrate creativity, and encourage others to chase what lights them up. I’ve built my career by following curiosity, embracing the island energy I grew up with, and leading by example.
If I had to describe myself in one line, it’s simple: I’m the girl who just decided to go for it.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one I have with my family, especially growing up as the youngest of three, or the “bunso” as we say in the Philippines. Being the bunso meant I got to watch everyone else go first – to learn from their wins, their challenges, and their courage. It made me observant, independent, and quietly determined, but it also came with this inner feeling that I had something to prove.
That really surfaced when I made my big move to the U.S. in 2018. With my parents not fully on board at the time and still seeing me as their bunso, I had to trust myself in a completely new way. I had to believe in my vision even before anyone else understood it. Leaving home was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made, but it shaped me more than anything, it taught me strength, resilience, and the beauty of choosing yourself even when it scares you.
Proving that I could build a life, a community, and a career from the ground up became my quiet promise to myself. I’ve always believed that you’re responsible for your own happiness, and that belief pushed me forward even when the journey felt uncertain. It helped me grow into the woman I am today — someone who leads with heart, follows her purpose, and keeps going for it no matter what.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Trust the girl you’re becoming — you’re braver than you think and you’re going to surprise yourself.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
One cultural value I protect at all costs is “kapwa” – that deep sense of shared humanity and community we grow up with in Filipino culture. Even after moving to the U.S., that mindset stayed with me. It’s why I show up for small businesses, why I build community wherever I go, and why creating spaces where people feel seen matters so much to me.
Kapwa teaches you that you’re never just moving for yourself. You’re carrying your family, your roots, your story, and your people with you. It reminds me to stay humble, stay heart-forward, and stay connected, no matter how far from home I am.
It’s the value that shaped me, the one I lead with, and the one I refuse to let go of.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I would regret holding back my creativity, dimming my light to make others comfortable, or waiting for permission; not choosing myself, not following the spark, not giving my dreams the chance to prove me right. Life has taught me that the only real failure is not trying, and the only real loss is letting fear win.
