Check Out Jose Hernandez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Hernandez.

Hi Jose, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started back around 2015 when my wife and I lived in a small one bedroom apartment and one tiny car garage for me to put my tools and car in to. My work as a content creator started around 2016 recording basic and simple videos on how things work. In the beginning i was confused on what type of content I wanted to focus on., but as time went by i found myself having the ability to teach and able of explaining clearly how things work and how other could fix them. I worked full time and was going to school full time and creating or recording at night my videos to be able to bring two to three videos a week on to my YouTube channel “Elchanojose”. I chose this name for my social media because in Jalisco Mex where I was born and raised until I was 14 years old, el chano was a nickname to a person who did and knew how to do just about everything. This person would be able to do just about everything because the poor lifestyle facing thought situations and forcing them for survival. I have work since I can remember and done just about everything the needs to be done to survive and that’s why I called my self “El Chano Jose”. Today, I have acquired a few classic cars and have a bigger garage on which I record car repairs and share them so others can repair and save money doing it themselves or just understanding what the mechanic shop is going to do they take the their car to a mechanic shop. I do this because I have the passion for cars and knowing that i can be helpful to others is my satisfaction hearing how helpful my videos have been to them. My wife’s support is the key to get to where I am today. This has not been easy, but has been hard work and thought path of a family support. There is nothing stronger than someone believing in you and with their support anything is possible.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path has been rough. I had to learn by failing and making mistakes to be able to make positive progress. One of the biggest challenges is and will always be is time. Money is can put us in thought moments, but the time that goes by can’t be brought back again. Working full time, being full time student and creating content was not easy. I knew that I had to sacrifice some of my time in the beginning and create a smother path for my future. Another thing that made this beginning more challenging was having no guidance or support from the person that would be the most or ultimately proud of me. My father did not to care if I became a better person. I had to became my own dad inside my own world by advising, supporting and the most important one believing on me.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Never in my life I thought that I would go from a tiny village in Mexico to traveling around the world and become “El Chano Jose”. I joined the U.S. Navy to be able to have opportunities in life. I only did and finish my Navy 4 year contract with honorable discharge. Got out and got a job as a plumber on which I have mastered the trade because I am a mechanical inclined mindset. My survival life have helped me on becoming better person everyday not just for me but for others too. I have the ability of understanding how mechanical thing work in every aspect of life. I can figure out how things work with out the need of instruction or manuals. I use this and other skill not to make money but to survive and be useful to this world. I am proud of my wife Laura Hernandez for believing and supporting my craziness. I am proud of my self of who I have become because the path has not been easy for the ride. I am walking this path of life and want to be the best I can be for everyone, but specially my daughter. I have to watch where I step so she can follow my journey and be better than who I have become. I don’t compete against others, I improve so I can become a better version of myself everyday. Every morning I wake up and thank the our creator for one more day of life and opportunity to make positive changes. Everyday that I wake up , I humble knowing who I am in my heart and mind.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The best father I can be and the best husband to my lovely wife enjoying together the passion for cars. Shifts are going to happen but family is going to be always first.
