Art & Life with Heartbeat Dupree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heartbeat Dupree.

Heartbeat, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’m (Lori V) from a small town called Visalia, CA. I grew up there, moved to LA to focus on music. Ended up moving to San Diego to be closer to family. I focus mainly on finding new venues to play at! I’m indie/pop-rock/acoustic.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I’ve been into music since I was a small kid. I got into playing guitar as a teenager because of my biggest influence at the time; New Found Glory. I have a wide range of influences now that I’m older, both musically and personal. My music name is very musically influenced, it’s basically a tribute to a band called “Eisley”. I sing and play acoustic guitar and my styling is old pop-rock/acoustic pop. I have two albums out now and am booked for the House Of Blues San Diego!

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success to me is, if you feel good at the end of the day with what you worked on and accomplished. If you aren’t happy with what you’re doing, then there’s something wrong there. I look at myself as someone who has worked hard and is still working on my craft. Even if it’s a crappy day, keep your head up, there’s always tomorrow. I try to keep positive vibes.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
You can find me on Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. My music name is Heartbeat Dupree.
