Daily Inspiration: Meet Issam Lagrichi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Issam Lagrichi.

Hi Issam, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Moved to san diego in 2008 from new York. Came to the US in 2006 and worked as a guest services host at Disney’s magic kingdom in Orlando.
After a humble career in retail management, I took on a part time role with a global relief org which quickly turned into a 7 years career. In the midst of all of this I got super involved in the business, Latino, Muslim and Interfaith communities throughout the nation and especially here in san diego.
About a year ago I took on the role of facility manager of the muslim community center of Greater san diego.
My role became extremely busy during the blessed month of Ramadan and more so 2 months ago after the horrific terror act in our other big community center (ICSD) since then been focused on healing our community and strengthening our security with collaboration with SDPD
I’m very passionate about what I do and I believe American Mulsims will soon bring back the golden era of muslims from centuries ago to better serve humanity at large and spread lots of harmony, peace and prosperity on Earth
Ask me how ?

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A smooth road is a recipe of sliding off the edges too quickly.
Its been a bit of a challenging role and I’m loving it
We are in the process of a multi million dollars expansion which sadly has been delayed by city politics also being a visionary sometimes I can bumb heads with folks who can’t see passed tomorrow. Nonetheless nothing is impossible because even the word itself screams I’m possible!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Its different every day . Managing a large facility can be tricky yet fun. I oversee maintenance crew, cleaning crew, volunteers, events , weekly Friday service with 3000 plus people attending. I specialize in people skills and public relations . I’m proud of being at the service of my community . I love what I do and do what I love

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The safety and well being of my community. Without it everything else won’t be possible
