Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Perry.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always loved cooking, but my passion really grew after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in my mid-twenties. Learning how food could support my health inspired me to create simple, seasonal recipes that are both nourishing and approachable.
Today, I’m a food content creator based in North Park, San Diego, where I share recipes, cooking inspiration, and partner with food and kitchen brands. What started as a creative hobby has grown into a career, and I’m grateful to continue building a community around my love of food and bringing people together in the kitchen.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Building a business from scratch takes a lot of patience, consistency, and resilience. There have been slow seasons, self-doubt, and moments where I questioned whether it would work. I’ve also balanced other jobs while growing my brand. Those challenges have taught me to stay consistent, keep learning, and trust that steady progress adds up over time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a food content creator specializing in healthy, seasonal recipes that are approachable, beautiful, and made with simple ingredients. My content focuses on helping people feel inspired in the kitchen while showing that nourishing meals can still be full of flavor.
I’m known for my clean, elevated food styling, my love for cooking from scratch, and creating recipes that feel both comforting and attainable. I’m most proud of turning my passion for food into a growing brand and building a community that comes to my page for inspiration, recipes, and a reminder to slow down and enjoy the process of cooking.
What sets me apart is the personal connection behind my content. My recipes are inspired by my own health journey and my belief that food is one of the most meaningful ways we can care for ourselves and connect with others.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories are the ones spent in the kitchen with my Nana. Cooking together taught me that food is more than just a meal—it’s a way to create memories, share love, and bring people together. Those moments sparked my lifelong love for cooking and continue to inspire the way I approach food today.
