Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Garcia.
Hi Molly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
First and foremost, none of this would have been possible without God. I truly believe Busy Mom Socials came from a calling, even though I did not understand what that calling was at the beginning.
Before starting my business, I worked as a nanny here in San Diego. I became extremely close with the families I served and played a huge role in the children’s lives. I loved them deeply, but internally, I felt like God was pushing me toward a new chapter. The problem was, I had no idea what that chapter was supposed to look like, and leaving something familiar felt scary.
Then, in 2020, my life changed completely.
I was driving home early from my nanny job when I was hit by a drunk driver in a hit-and-run accident. The driver was eventually found, made bail, and fled again. I was left with six herniated discs, chronic pain, and a body that could no longer keep up with the physical demands of being a nanny.
It was one of the most humbling seasons of my life. I did not know whether I would be able to walk without pain again, and I had to accept that I could no longer care for the children in the way they deserved. They needed someone who could take them to the zoo, run around at the beach, and fully participate in their lives. As painful as it was, I knew I had to let that chapter go.
For the next few years, I tried just about everything. I sold used Apple products, created digital products, worked for Instacart, and explored different ways to make an income. I jokingly say I tried everything under the sun, but each experience taught me something about business, people, and what I was naturally good at.
Even before Busy Mom Socials, I had always understood how to market and position myself. As a childcare provider, I created a business called First Choice Sitter, where I positioned myself as a reliable backup sitter for San Diego parents. Families could interview and approve me ahead of time, so when their regular babysitter or nanny canceled, I could step in. Because I had created a clear niche and solved a specific problem, I was able to charge more and build trust quickly.
That experience showed me that I had a natural interest in marketing, positioning, and understanding what people needed.
I began learning everything I could through HubSpot, Google, YouTube, online marketing resources, and independent research. Traditional college had never been the right learning environment for me. I had tried it multiple times, but I have always learned best through hands-on education and trade-school-style training.
Eventually, I made one of the biggest and scariest decisions of my life: I invested the money I received from the car accident lawsuit into a social media marketing course. At the time, that was essentially everything I had.
The course gave me knowledge, but the real education came from taking action. I was honest with my first clients. I told them I was learning, growing, and building my experience, and I offered my services with the promise that I would work hard and do everything I could to help them.
My journey in social media marketing began in the medspa industry, and I have continued working closely with medspas, wellness brands, and service-based businesses ever since.
Over time, I realized this business was about much more than creating content.
My background as a nanny allowed me to see how much mothers carry. I watched moms manage their homes, careers, children, relationships, schedules, and emotional responsibilities. Many of the mothers I worked for were nurses and other healthcare professionals working long shifts to provide a beautiful life for their families.
As their nanny, I was part of their village.
That is where the heart behind Busy Mom Socials came from. I realized I wanted to become part of that same village in a different way—not by helping inside the home, but by helping mothers inside their businesses.
I am not a mom yet, but I have the utmost respect for mothers. I am currently engaged, excited to get married, and hope to become a mother in the future. For the past six years, I have worked to understand the mindset, responsibilities, and needs of busy mom business owners. I have seen firsthand that the same love mothers pour into their families is often the love they pour into their businesses.
Busy Mom Socials was created to support that woman.
We are a boutique San Diego social media marketing agency serving mom-owned and service-based businesses. Our goal is not to simply post content. We build systems that save our clients time, organize their marketing, position them as experts, and help turn their social media platforms into a pathway toward inquiries and bookings.
We research the industry, develop the strategy, create content pillars, plan shot lists, travel to the client, film and photograph their content, organize everything into a content vault, edit the videos, design the graphics, write the captions, manage approvals, schedule the content, and help guide the overall customer journey.
The business owner gets to show up, share her expertise, and then go back to her clients, her family, and the parts of her life that matter most.
Creating those systems has been one of my proudest accomplishments. We have eliminated unnecessary steps, learned from years of trial and error, and built a process designed around efficiency, organization, and quality. Everything has a place, from the initial audit and research to the content shoot, editing, approvals, scheduling, engagement, and performance review.
We have now served more than 35 clients across industries including aesthetics, fitness, wellness, functional health, naturopathic medicine, chiropractic care, Pilates, midwifery, real estate, and mortgage services.
Another part of this journey that means so much to me is the team we have built. My first team member initially joined as an intern almost six years ago. At a time when I was still struggling to believe in myself, she told me, “We are going to do something big with this business.” She is still with me today and now serves as our operations manager.
We have grown into a team of seven women, with specialists in strategy, operations, branding, graphic design, content creation, and video editing. We intentionally remain a boutique agency and only take on a limited number of clients because we value quality, relationships, and meaningful results over volume.
I also would not be here without my fiancé. When I started the business, I had no job, very little money, and a lot of uncertainty. He supported me financially, emotionally, and mentally. He believed in me during the many moments when I wanted to quit.
The journey has not been smooth. We had to figure out our niche, pricing, systems, technology, cameras, content organization, hiring, and what truly made us different. We learned through trial and error, and we were honest with our clients throughout the process. We never pretended to have everything figured out. What we did promise was that we would care, work hard, learn, and do everything within our ability to help them to grow.
Today, Busy Mom Socials is based in Escondido and serves clients throughout San Diego County, including areas such as Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Peñasquitos, Point Loma, Coronado, Chula Vista, Otay Mesa, Lemon Grove, and the surrounding communities.
What started as an unexpected opportunity after one of the hardest periods of my life has become my greatest passion project.
At the core of everything we do is community. Our clients trust us with businesses they have poured their hearts into, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. Their win is our win.
I truly believe God used a painful redirection to show me a purpose I could not yet see for myself. Busy Mom Socials allowed me to take everything I had learned about supporting mothers, marketing, storytelling, organization, and service and turn it into something meaningful.
We are still growing, learning, and evolving, but I am incredibly proud of what we have created: a San Diego marketing agency built to help busy mothers grow their businesses without sacrificing the life and family they are working so hard to build.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Honestly, I think entrepreneurship has been one long process of trying something, learning from it, adjusting, and then trying again.
One of my first and biggest challenges was rebuilding my life after the hit-and-run accident. I was left with six herniated discs and chronic pain, and I had to walk away from a nanny career that had been a huge part of my identity. There was a period when I did not know what my body would be capable of or how I was going to support myself. I tried everything from Instacart to selling used Apple products and digital products while attempting to figure out what the next chapter of my life was supposed to be.
Starting Busy Mom Socials also required a major financial risk. I invested essentially all of the money I received from the accident lawsuit into learning social media marketing. I did not have a traditional marketing degree, a large network, or a perfect business plan. I had knowledge, a willingness to work, and a belief that I could create something meaningful.
In the beginning, one of the hardest things was believing in myself before there was a lot of proof. I was very honest with my first clients that I was still learning and building my experience. I never pretended to know everything. I simply promised that I would care about their business, keep learning, and work hard to help them grow.
As the business developed, the challenges changed. We had to figure out our niche, how to price our services, which clients were the right fit, what equipment and technology to use, how to organize years of content, and how to create a process that did not leave our team or our clients, completely overwhelmed.
For a while, I also tried to wear every hat myself. I was the strategist, content creator, videographer, editor, graphic designer, caption writer, account manager, researcher, and business owner. That was not sustainable, and it taught me that marketing truly takes a village. Building a team and learning to delegate were necessary, but they also required me to release control and trust other people with something I had built from the ground up.
Another struggle was deciding how specific we wanted to be about whom we served. It can feel scary to say that you are not for everyone, especially when you are still growing and every opportunity feels important. Over time, I realized that our strongest work happens when we support San Diego moms and service-based business owners. That clarity helped us build better systems because we stopped trying to create an agency for everyone and started creating one intentionally for the women we understand and care deeply about.
A lot of what makes Busy Mom Socials different today came directly from the things that did not work. We built our content vaults because content was difficult to organize. We created detailed shot lists because we did not want to waste our clients’ limited time. We added approval systems because feedback through scattered text messages and emails was inefficient. We developed specialized team roles because one person cannot sustainably handle every part of a complete marketing strategy.
There have been many moments when I wanted to quit, questioned whether I was doing enough, or wondered whether the business was growing quickly enough. I have had to learn that growth is not always loud or immediate. Sometimes growth looks like improving one process, retaining a great client, hiring the right person, or finally creating a system that gives everyone more breathing room.
Through every challenge, my faith, my fiancé, my team, and the clients who trusted me have kept me moving forward. My first team member believed we were going to build something meaningful before I fully believed it myself, and she is still part of the company today.
The road has been messy, humbling, and filled with trial and error, but I would not remove those parts of the story. Every struggle forced us to become clearer, more organized, more honest, and more intentional. Busy Mom Socials was not built because I had everything figured out. It was built because I kept going until we found a way that worked.
As you know, we’re big fans of Busy Mom Socials | San Diego Social Media Marketing Agency. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The name of my business is Busy Mom Socials. We are a boutique social media marketing agency based in Escondido and serving mom-owned and service-based businesses throughout San Diego County.
Busy Mom Socials was created for the business owner who is amazing at what she does but never received a degree in marketing and honestly does not have the time to become a full-time content creator on top of everything else she is already managing.
We primarily work with mothers because I have always had such a deep respect for how much moms carry. They are business owners, providers, wives, partners, daughters, friends, human calendars, and usually the person everyone turns to when something needs to get done. The same amount of love they pour into their families is often the amount of love they pour into their businesses.
Our job is to help carry the marketing side.
We specialize in done-for-you social media marketing and content creation for service-based businesses, including medspas, wellness professionals, healthcare providers, fitness brands, real estate professionals, mortgage brokers, and other local experts.
What we are known for is not simply posting content. We create an entire social media marketing system inside the client’s business.
When a client begins working with us, we start by diagnosing what is already happening across her platforms. We review her branding, messaging, website, social media profiles, links, searchability, offers, competitors, and overall customer journey. We want to understand what is working, what is missing, and why her content may not be converting into inquiries or appointments.
From there, we develop her strategy, content pillars, monthly plan, and detailed shot list. Our team travels to the client’s location and films several weeks of content during one organized content shoot. We guide the conversation, capture educational videos, photograph the business, film behind-the-scenes footage, and help the client communicate what makes her expertise and approach different.
The goal is for her to show up, talk about the business she already knows, and then return to her clients and family while our team handles the rest.
After the shoot, we organize everything into what we call a content vault. Every photo, video, service, topic, and piece of educational content has a place. Our team then edits the videos, creates the graphic designs and carousels, writes the captions, develops the calls to action, and places everything into a live content calendar where the client can review it and provide feedback before it is scheduled.
This organization matters because most busy business owners do not need more random content ideas. They need a repeatable system.
A single treatment, service, frequently asked question, client concern, or business story can become multiple pieces of strategic content. Over time, we build an organized library that allows us to reuse, refresh, and expand the client’s marketing without forcing her to start from zero every month.
What sets Busy Mom Socials apart is that our process was intentionally built around the lifestyle of a busy mother and service-based business owner. We understand that her time is limited. She does not want to spend an entire day filming or go back and forth through scattered emails, text messages, and last-minute requests.
We come prepared. We create the plan. We direct the shoot. We organize the footage. We manage the editing and approvals. We make recommendations based on research and real performance data. We are there to lead the marketing process rather than constantly asking the client what we should do next.
Everything is designed to be efficient, organized, and connected.
We also approach social media as part of a larger customer journey. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google Business Profile, a website, and a booking page should not feel like disconnected pieces. They should work together to help someone discover the brand, understand the problem it solves, trust the business owner’s expertise, see proof of the results, and know what action to take next.
That is why we focus heavily on storytelling, education, positioning, local search visibility, and clear calls to action. We want the content to look beautiful, but it also needs to communicate something. A page should not feel like a digital promotion board. It should help a potential client understand why this business is the right choice for her.
I am especially proud of the systems and team we have built. Busy Mom Socials has grown into a team of seven women with strengths in strategy, operations, branding, graphic design, content creation, copywriting, and video editing. Marketing requires many different skills, and I learned early that one person cannot sustainably or effectively wear every hat.
We intentionally remain a small boutique agency and only take on a limited number of clients. We are not trying to become the biggest agency or work with everyone. We care deeply about quality, communication, relationships, and having enough space to truly understand each client’s business.
Over the past six years, we have served more than 35 businesses across the aesthetics, wellness, fitness, functional health, naturopathic, chiropractic, Pilates, midwifery, real estate, and mortgage industries. We have helped clients create stronger brands, become more consistent online, reconnect with previous customers, attract new leads, and generate high-value bookings.
However, what I am most proud of is the trust our clients place in us.
These women are not handing us “just an Instagram account.” They are trusting us with businesses they have built through sacrifice, long hours, financial risk, and time away from their families. We do not take that responsibility lightly.
Their win is our win.
What I want readers to know about Busy Mom Socials is that we are more than a content-posting service. We are a San Diego social media marketing agency that builds strategy, structure, and support for busy service-based business owners.
Our goal is to help women grow businesses they are proud of without making them feel like they have to choose between being present online and being present in their real lives.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think the social media marketing industry is going to become more automated, more competitive, and more focused on authenticity over the next five to ten years.
AI will play a huge role. It is great for organizing ideas, improving workflows, researching topics, and helping businesses create content more efficiently. But I also think it is one of the best and worst things to happen to marketing.
The more businesses rely on the same AI tools, templates, and prompts, the more everything starts to sound and look the same.
That is why authentic branding will matter more than ever.
AI can help organize your thoughts, but it should not replace your thoughts. The businesses that stand out will be the ones that share real stories, strong opinions, personality, expertise, and lived experience.
I also think social media will become less about simply posting and more about building a full marketing ecosystem. Instagram, TikTok, Google Business Profiles, websites, email marketing, and booking systems will all need to work together.
Another major shift will be the growth of boutique agencies and specialized teams. One person cannot realistically be the strategist, videographer, editor, copywriter, graphic designer, community manager, and data analyst forever. Marketing takes a team.
Content volume will continue to grow, but strategy will matter more than posting constantly. Businesses will need systems to organize, repurpose, and measure their content without starting from scratch every month.
Local search will also become increasingly important, especially for service-based businesses. Companies will need to clearly communicate what they do, who they serve, and where they are located across every platform.
Ultimately, the businesses that win will be the ones that balance technology with humanity.
Platforms will change. Trends will change. AI will continue to evolve. But people will still want to work with businesses they know, like, and trust.
