Today we’d like to introduce you to Anea Davis.
Hi Anea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Anea Marie, and I am the founder of Grvced, a faith centered skincare and education brand built on the belief that true transformation begins from the inside out.
Before becoming an esthetician, my life looked very different. I spent years immersed in the nightlife industry until I reached a point where I knew I needed a different path. My relationship with God changed the trajectory of my life, and through that journey, I discovered esthetics. What started as a new career quickly became a calling.
Over the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people improve their skin while also educating them to better understand and care for it. I later became an esthetics instructor, where I discovered a passion for teaching and mentoring others in the industry.
When I launched Grvced, I envisioned it as a skincare business. But over time, God began to redirect that vision. Today, Grvced is about much more than skincare treatments. It has grown into a platform focused on education, virtual consultations, mentorship, and encouraging others to approach skincare with intention, grace, and stewardship.
As I enter the second year of building Grvced, I’m embracing the pivot with gratitude. The direction may not have been what I originally planned, but it has produced more purpose than I could have imagined. My hope is that everything I build reflects God’s grace and serves people in a way that leaves them feeling seen, equipped, and confident, not just in their skin, but in who they were created to be.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been anything but a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to faithfully integrate my beliefs into an industry that often profits from insecurity. As the beauty industry continued to shift toward promoting unrealistic standards, I found myself wrestling with where I fit. It became increasingly common to see younger women chasing Botox, filler, and the latest trends, with less emphasis on stewarding the unique beauty each of us has been given.
There were moments when I questioned whether my approach could truly compete in a market driven by comparison and the promise of perfection. But over time, I realized I wasn’t called to compete,I was called to be different. That realization changed the direction of my business. Instead of building a brand around convincing people they weren’t enough, I chose to build one centered on education, intentional care, and helping people make informed decisions about their skin. That shift hasn’t always been the easiest path, but it has been the most authentic one.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work is centered around corrective skincare, education, and helping people build a healthier relationship with their skin. Rather than chasing every trend or promising quick fixes, I specialize in helping my clients understand why their skin behaves the way it does so they can make informed, sustainable decisions.
Over the years, I’ve become known for my education first approach. Whether I’m working with a client or mentoring another esthetician, my goal is to simplify skincare, cut through the noise, and empower people with knowledge instead of fear.
What I’m most proud of, however, is being able to express my faith through my work. For me, skincare has never been just about appearances. It’s about serving people with integrity, leading with grace, and reminding others that caring for ourselves is an act of stewardship, not striving for perfection. Building a business that reflects my values has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
My greatest resource is prayer. It keeps me grounded and helps guide every decision I make in both life and business. Outside of that, YouTube is one of my favorite apps because I love learning. Whether it’s skincare, business, ministry, or personal growth, I’m always looking for opportunities to grow.
