Meet Kate Yen of Diamond Activations, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Yen.

Hi Kate, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I moved to California from Syracuse, New York when I was 21, right after graduating from college. I had always dreamed of living in California, and taking that leap was one of my first experiences of trusting a vision for my life before I knew exactly how it was going to work out.

I went on to spend more than a decade working at Hay House, one of the world’s leading personal development publishers. I had the opportunity to work around incredible authors, teachers, and thought leaders, and I became immersed in personal development, spirituality, publishing, events, and marketing. Those years shaped so much of who I am and how I see the world today.

Eventually, I trained as a coach and began doing deeper work around self-worth, boundaries, limiting beliefs, and reinvention. At the same time, I built a career in digital marketing and SEO, helping brands grow their visibility online.

Animals have also been a huge part of my life and my journey. I spent years volunteering with rescued cats and studying energy healing for animals, and eventually I began developing and trusting my intuitive ability to communicate with them.

Today, I bring all of those pieces together through my work as a Reinvention and Self-Love Coach and Animal Communicator and Healer. I help people reconnect with themselves, strengthen their self-worth, create boundaries, trust their intuition, and have the courage to create a life that feels true to them. I also help people connect more deeply with their animals through communication and energy healing.

I’m also raising two daughters, and a huge part of what drives me is building a business that can support them while showing them what’s possible when you believe in yourself and are willing to keep pursuing your dream.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing the change in my clients. I love watching someone become more confident, make a decision they’ve been afraid to make, finally honor a boundary, or start believing that the life they really want is possible.

San Diego has been such a beautiful place to create this next chapter. Being near the ocean, animals, nature, and such a creative and wellness-focused community feels very aligned.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.

My biggest challenge has been learning to lean on my faith and belief in myself during the times when I didn’t feel supported.

I’ve had moments when I could see a vision for my life, but had no idea how I was going to get there. I’ve had to start over, change directions, deal with financial uncertainty, and keep going when I felt overwhelmed.

One of the biggest turning points came when I lost my longtime job while I was pregnant with my second daughter. Suddenly, I had to figure out what came next while raising two daughters and wanting to create a life that gave me more freedom and allowed me to support them.

I eventually built my own business and went on to earn more than I had in my previous career, but getting there required me to believe in myself before I had much evidence that everything was going to work out.

I’ve also had to work through many of the things I now help my clients with: self-worth, people-pleasing, visibility, fear of judgment, and giving my power away because I assumed someone else knew what was best for me.

For years, I kept my intuitive abilities mostly private because I worried about what people would think. Eventually, I realized I couldn’t keep waiting for someone else to understand or validate the vision I had for my life.

I’ve learned that sometimes you have to be the person who believes in you first. My faith has helped me tremendously with that. I don’t always know how everything is going to unfold, but I’ve become much more comfortable trusting myself enough to keep moving forward.

I’ve also learned that creating more capacity in your life often requires letting something go. Sometimes the next chapter can’t fully begin while you’re still holding onto everything from the old one.

I’ve learned to love and trust myself through the process, even when I can’t see the entire path ahead.

As you know, we’re big fans of Diamond Activations, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My work lives at the intersection of reinvention, self-love, intuition, and our connection with animals.

As a Reinvention and Self-Love Coach, I work with people who may look like they have everything together on the outside but feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure about what they want next.

We work on self-worth, boundaries, confidence, limiting beliefs, purpose, and learning to trust yourself again.

I believe that the life we want is created through the choices we make every day. It’s in how we spend our time, what we give our energy to, the boundaries we keep, the habits we create, and whether our actions are actually supporting the vision we say we want.

That’s one of my favorite things to witness with clients. The changes can start small, but they create momentum. Someone finally does the thing they’ve been putting off. They become more visible. They make a career change, start a business, leave behind an old pattern, or simply become more peaceful and confident in their own decisions. I love watching someone realize they are capable of creating change in their own life.

The other side of my work is animal communication and energy healing. I help people better understand their pets and deepen their connection with them. I work with animals who are here as well as those who have passed.

To me, these parts of my work are deeply connected. Our animals are beside us through so many chapters of our lives. They bring us into the present moment and can teach us so much about love, connection, and trust.

Ultimately, I want my work to help people create lives that feel like their own, trust the gifts they came here with, and live their best lives with the animals they love by their side.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If owning your own business is on your heart, just start. You don’t have to know exactly how everything is going to unfold before you take the first step.

I wish I had spent less time overthinking and more time taking action when I was starting out. Thinking about everything you need to accomplish at once can become overwhelming. Focus on the next thing you can do that moves you closer to your goal, and do it.

Protect your time and energy too. Have bottom-line boundaries. You don’t have to be available to everyone all the time, and you don’t have to allow distractions to continually pull you away from what you’re trying to create.

Look at your daily habits because that’s where so much of your future is being built. Ask yourself if what you are doing with your time actually supports the life you say you want.

And don’t be afraid to let things go. More capacity doesn’t always come from learning how to do more. Sometimes it comes from deciding what you’re no longer willing to carry.
Most importantly, don’t give your power away by believing someone else knows what’s best for your life. Trust yourself. Trust your intuition. You know when something feels aligned with who you are and where you want to go. When you do what excites you and makes you happy you gain energy, and it doesn’t feel like work.

I spent years afraid to talk about my intuitive gifts because I worried about being judged. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to let people know I can receive messages from animals. My gift brings peace to people and helps to deepen the bond with their pets.
I believe our pets are like angels sent to us to help us live our purpose and teach us lessons like the power of love.

Just keep taking one step at a time and remember the sun will come up tomorrow.

Keep believing that you can do it and take small steps towards your vision every day, with your values guiding your choices. Sending you blessings on your path!
