Check out Paloma Jacobo’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paloma Jacobo.

Paloma, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My love for art and creating started at a very young age, when I was 8 and took my very first dance lesson, 12 years later I suffered an injury that made a career in dance unviable. At this low point in my life I discovered a new art form that allowed me to keep on creating and expressing myself. Photography helped me to see the beauty in everyday life and to get through difficult times.

Photography became a way to not only process and understand life but also my career and livelihood. I started my photography business inspired by my dad who owns a photo studio in Mexico, I have an amazing team that works with me and now I know that whenever times get hard all I have to do is make art.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I dedicate my life to capturing the happiest moments in life, from Quinceaneras and Weddings to wonderful sunsets and landscapes. It is wonderful to see so much love and beauty, it makes me feel that despite all the things that are wrong with the world and how difficult life might get there is always hope, there is always something good among all the bad and I hope people feel this when they look at my pictures.

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
Definitely, as artist we should not only bring awareness to issues that resonate with us but also be part of the efforts to make a change.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My website: www.palomajacobophotography.com. Instagram is the platform that I use the most: @palomajacobo and @palomajacobophotography
