Aaron, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started 3 years ago when taking a painting class at a restaurant called the Rabbit Hole in Normal Heights. I fell in love with playing with paint and making something out of nothing. There are several local artists who helped me along the way that inspired me to try something new since I didn’t grow up painting or doing anything artistic really at all. I paint in my own little studio space and have been fortunate that others enjoy my creations as well.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
These first few years have been a blessing more than a struggle. It just took time to find where to go to get certain materials, like canvas and paint. That process adds to the adventure.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Aaron Pflanz Artist story. Tell us more about the business.
The business side of things isn’t my main concern. If someone likes a piece and wants to buy it, that’s great. I’ll keep and enjoy own creations at home and be happy as well.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Tons of luck! The first two pieces I sold were purchased by a friend, and that helped set the tone for moving forward.
