Today we’d like to introduce you to Darrell Miles.
Darrell, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I have been a flight attendant for the four years traveling all over the world. Last year I got divorced and began a new hobby, photography. I found a new passion behind the lens of camera. Now I travel all over the world with camera in hand capturing what I find unique and beautiful. Photography has helped me deal with my divorce and find a new talent I never knew I had.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Photography for me is an outlet. I go to cities and hit the streets hoping to capture something unique to share with other people. I hope that through my eyes people can experience places they may never see. My work is an expression of how I view the world through the lens of a camera. If someone enjoys my work and it makes their day a little bit better, then I have done something good.
Do you think conditions are generally improving for artists? What more can cities and communities do to improve conditions for artists?
I think because of technology artists are able to connect with a larger audience so much easier. The ability to share your talents with others and connect with other people has grown substantially. Life has become easier for artists because of technology. The arts will only thrive if we teach the younger generations the importance of arts Influence on our culture as a whole.
