Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Dare.
Danielle moved to San Diego in 2012 to see what beautiful Southern California had to offer! At the ripe age of 25, she was given the diagnosis of melanoma. The skin cancer diagnosis ignited a fire to start her professional training as a licensed aesthetician. Danielle attended Bellus Academy in Poway, CA where she graduated at the top of her class and has continued her education through multiple product training courses in addition to advanced modalities such as the Hydrafacial, Intracueticals oxygen facial machine and Dermalinfusion Silk Peel. After experiencing the wellness and holistic approach to skin care, Danielle ventured to the iconic Spa at Hotel Del Coronado where she received detailed Forbes training and continued her advanced education with the resort-style approach. After another brief battle with melanoma in late 2017, Danielle decided it was time to follow her heart to a more independent approach into the industry. Danielle joined forces with Palmer Skin to offer an appealing, cutting-edge concept to innovative skin care.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Does anything ever go according to plan? No… not really. But, when faced with challenges it’s all about your attitude! At the beginning of my esthetic career, most of my struggles were internal. I would worry that I didn’t know enough about protocols or ingredients to choose the best options for my clients; I’d even have dreams about being late or no showing a client on accident. Once I found my groove in the workplace, I gained confidence by teaching myself what active ingredients were in my favorite (top 5) products and why those ingredients benefit the skin. I was able to sell those five products like hotcakes! (Is that a thing?) Time and experience are huge when jumping the “self-doubt” hurdle.
My most recent struggle appeared when I was faced with following my passion and gut to a new opportunity versus staying put in an uncomfortable position. If you have a dream, a passion, a vision… GO FOR IT. Do not stay in a position that limits your creative abilities, your positive attitude or your desire to do what you love. Be able to recognize what it is you want for yourself, and for your career and take the needed steps to achieve it.
