Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Dobbins.
Cassie, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have loved photography ever since I was a little girl. I would walk around my neighborhood taking pictures with my little disposable camera. As I got older, I did not pursue it because I lacked the confidence and thought it wasn’t a “real job.”
After a long break from photography, I decided to get back into it with full force. It is truly my passion and I am happiest when I’m capturing beautiful moments, and making sure my client feels comfortable and confident in front of my camera.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My inspiration is simple… my clients! Each client is unique and has a beautiful story to tell. Whether they are an aspiring model, a newly engaged couple or a family, they want to take their feelings of love and closeness and keep them forever. At the end of our session, they will have tangible evidence of their love that they can look back on often. It is a reminder of the moments, but more importantly, the feelings.
The stereotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
Never give up on a dream because of money! I have made this mistake so many times and it is simply not worth it! If you want to pursue an entrepreneurial path, but don’t think you have the finances to do it, reorganize! There is always a way. Sometimes, you need to work a part-time/full-time job in order to get started. Do whatever it takes.
