Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Iriarte.
Jason, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Born in Hawaii and grew up in South San Diego I always was into art, graffiti, skateboarding, and tattoos, as I got older, I tried tattooing one of my friends and it grew from there. I guess the love for lettering grew as I really began to get into tattooing more.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Tattooing and lettering come together as one thing nowadays, lettering has it’s own art form now, so many ways and styles to form letters, now it’s incredible. I try to to do my own style, you have to be a lil competitive in this industry. There’s a lot of good artists out here in the south bay, hopefully, my art can show that and inspire the next generation of young talented artists.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Real advice for upcoming artists get out there and put your work out there. It might seem a lil overwhelming at first but once you do you’ll get the feedback you are looking for. Put as much time and energy into yourself and your career and positive things will come.
