Life & Work with Jon Gonzales of La Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jon Gonzales

Hi Jon , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Originally I was an audio engineer but I didn’t love the career as much as I loved helping people achieve better health and wellness, so I switched careers and slowly built my business up one client at a time.

I know in my heart I made the right decision because helping people reach their goals is a big part of what I stand for and who I am. Thats the Work Ethic for which is my passion and the namesake of my business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Very undulating like most journeys but through it all I’ve enjoyed the process.

I still to this day have and maintain relationships with my original clients

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a personal trainer whom has a gym studio. I run daily group fitness classes but a majority of my business is virtual. I have clients based all over the country as well as clients in Canada and Mexico

I specialize in meal plans and interactive home workouts.

I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built over the years. From personal to business and business to personal.

My niche is I am able to take a group class and personalize everyone’s workout so that they get specific training for their needs.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes, most of my clients wanted to leave their gyms and cease training activities. That’s when I came up with the idea of virtual training.

I was able to maintain a large following of individuals that had no concept of it yet it managed to work.

Plus I’ve helped clients build home gyms by what equipment to invest in and how to space out a floor plan for home gym space
