Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Jazzmere.
Hi Regina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always had a love for all things natural. I can thank my mom for that. She never gave me traditional medicine growing up, only remedies and concoctions she’d put together. So, the journey really evolved over time into what I knew all my life, and that was the love for plants and holistic health. I always knew I wanted to help people, so I went to school to become a nurse. But shortly after I landed a job at a major hospital, I realized I wasn’t supposed to be helping people in this capacity; it wasn’t something I was happy doing nor did I agree with, so a few years into my career, I enrolled in an herbalist program for healthcare professionals and I just took off from there! I started to put an exit strategy in place to leave my job and launch my own online herbal store. It was right when the pandemic hit, so it was just in time and what people needed.
In April of 2021, I officially hung up my nursing coat and began life as a full-time entrepreneur. I had been running a successful online herbal business since the end of 2019, and things had been going really well, so I decided early this year it was time to open a brick and mortar so I began the search and found my first storefront in Kearny Mesa! We are located at 3654 Ruffin Rd Suite E San Diego, CA 92123
I decided to involve the community by bringing together other healers from all over San Diego to showcase their products at my store as well. So, my shop Carrie’s everything you may need on your holistic journey! We serve as a one-stop-shop to holistic healing! We carry over 95 different herbs, sea moss, elderberry, supplements, teas, waist beads, extracts, ginger-infused honey; we have vendors that make wrapped sage, floral candles, African jewelry, oils, bath bombs, herbal bath soaks, and a few others arriving soon! It’s been great!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t necessarily been a smooth transition. I’m a San Diego native, but I moved to Texas back in 2015 and recently moved back to San Diego the beginning of this year, so just navigating my way back into the community letting people know I’m here, educating people on the benefits of holistic health and networking has been a little challenging, to say the least. But I always told myself if I were to ever open up a physical Holistic herb shop, it had to be back in my hometown.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
On Her Throne was born after a phrase, I would say! If I seen a woman who was on top of her game in her business, I’d say, “Oh, look at that Queen right there; she’s On Her Throne! She’s got it together! It was a representation of reaching your pinnacle place in life! Where you know your stuff! No one can push you off your throne because you’re a Queen and you sit at your throne, so that’s where the name came from, and when I finally realized that this was my passion, this was what I wanted to do in life! It never felt like work because it was my true identity I would eat, breathe, and sleep holistic health and herbal knowledge. I knew I had found my throne; I was now “On Her Throne.”
I am a Certified Master Herbalist to the community. I specialize in women’s health with an emphasis on womb/ Yoni health. As women, we all have the same parts but the issues we deal with can all be very different. One of the ways I help women with their womb issues is by offering herbal teas and yoni steaming.
Yoni steaming or peri steaming is a holistic ancient practice or alternative healing remedy to help cleanse the vagina, uterus and assist in healing various issues of the womb. I create herbal blends for the yoni specifically for an issue. I don’t believe in a one recipe for all I believe a blend has to specifically be designed for that particular ailment or person by listening to their story and making the right herbal selections that would best fit them.
I’m also a wholesale distributor for yoni steam practitioners all over the U.S. providing everything you need to start and successfully maintain a thriving yoni business; I’m an educator, I teach certification classes -Yoni steam practitioner, certified herbalist classes, provide wholesale yoni herbs, stools, soaps, oils, yoni bowls, equipment, and other supporting yoni products to my practitioners.
At my herbal shop, I carry all of my womb care herbal offerings, and I also have created herbal products dedicated to immune support and lifestyle support.
Recently my family and I decided to move back here to San Diego, where I opened my holistic herb shop! I feel deeply in my heart that people want and need this information. I feel like what sets me apart from other healers is that it’s in my DNA I’ve fully been born into this work! It’s a part of me; I’ve been through 3 different programs the longest about 2 years to complete; I’m also a nurse by profession, so being knowledgeable about the body makes me a well-rounded herbalist. And I just love empowering people to take charge in their own health it’s amazing seeing people be changed and leaving a lifetime impression with them.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Definitely, I’d say a business mentor in your field is a must! I have a business mentor. I think it’s helpful to have someone whose been through what you’re going through it definitely saves you a lot of mistakes in the long run.
What’s really been a huge help and success in my business is having systems in place. You need as many automated systems as you can; the more you have, the more you can show up in your business.
Leave certain things up to the experts don’t try to waste your time becoming the expert in everything. I know I’m not great with marketing materials, so I have someone that does that for me so that time can be spent by me being the expert as the herbalist, what people are looking for me to show up as.
