Meet Eric Racicot of Keep Your Exposure

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Racicot.

Eric, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Eric Racicot, I am a professional freelance photographer based in San Diego.

Thanks to some friends and encouragement, I picked up a camera about a year and a half ago and haven’t looked back since. After realizing I had a special eye for composition, paired with a creative mind, my skills using a professional camera grew every single day. Instagram has allowed me the opportunity to showcase my work across the world.

I have spent the past year organically building an incredibly strong Instagram profile, with people from all over the world supporting my work. The rollercoaster ride of Instagram has been tough at times, but I am incredibly thankful for the people I’ve met through it and extremely humble for the major photography/travel pages that have featured my work such as Beautiful Destinations (11M), Canon USA (1.8M), (Visualambassadors 628K), and so much more.

Has it been a smooth road?
For myself, photography helped save me from a very low point in my life. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors in Communication and spent three painful years searching for a full-time job with any company willing to hire a new hardworking graduate. Unfortunately, nobody put their faith in me so I decided to put faith into myself and my unique skill set. Photography provided me a way to learn, create, and capture like never before.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I created my own professional photography website when my work started getting noticed by people around the world. My specialty work is with landscape, seascape, lifestyle, travel, and creative portrait photography. On Instagram, I am able to show off my work with some of San Diego’s beautiful landscapes and sunsets, along with creative portrait every now and then.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
San Diego is one of the best places in the United States for someone to fall in love with photography. This city is full of beautiful hidden gems that blend in with the already gorgeous coastline. San Diego also provides a scene for almost all kinds of photography, allowing for all sorts of creators or photographers to be successful in the industry.
