Today we’d like to introduce you to Pramiti Bhargava.
Pramiti, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
BlueGrape started seven years back when I and my partner Akhil were flipping homes at San Diego. I had to quit a marketing leadership role at Yahoo! and joined BlueGrape. While one of our early flips sat on the market for six months, it was a miracle for us to see the home get four offers once staged. That was the moment BlueGrape Staging was conceptualized (a light bulb literally lit!). We knew for a team passionate about real estate, creativity and entrepreneurship this was what we wanted to do – add value to the real estate world with the magic of staging.
From a public storage unit to multiple units we now operate out of a 6500 sq feet office and warehouse space staging close to 200 homes a year across the county – estates, new construction, developer projects, luxury real estate to condos.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with any entrepreneur, the first few years to establish a business are not easy. It takes education, marketing, establishing processes, financial investment, building a fabulous team to grow to a multi-million dollar business. The pain, challenges and sleepless nights were real! The truth is while we did all of that but the one SINGLE thing we repeated was took each failure as a learning and kept moving on. Giving up has never been an option for me. There was a whole army of family, friends, clients, real estate agents, investors who have supported us. Each home we created was the win of the day. In my mind, success was the journey and we still got much much more to create and build…
BlueGrape Staging and Design – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
BlueGrape Staging (www.bluegrapestaging.com) works on staging homes for sale across architectural styles, neighborhood demographics and design styles. We bring the freshest, on-trend charm to any home which buyers love when they walk into a home. We don’t just bring the art or the creativity but also the deep science of layouts, buyer psychographics, real estate expertise in positioning each item in a staged home the right way.
As a company, we are of course proud of the awards and recognition we have won including RESA Top 10 Rising Star Stager for two consecutive years, Top 100 People in Real Estate Staging, Innovative Staging company HSRA Pacific Regional, Best of Houzz 2014-2018, over 90 reviews spread on Houzz and Yelp. But besides this, we are proud of the team and efficient processes that work behind the scenes with the right experience, logistics and design to partner with the finest clients, real estate agents, builders and investors. We make it seamless but there is a lot of hard work which goes on behind to make it seamless.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment was when we saw the jump to being a seven-figure business. When we acquired a 15-year-old moving company and when we started hiring an amazing team.
