Meet Tiffanie Glaze of Grounded by Nature

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffanie Glaze.

Hi Tiffanie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am originally from Ventura County, CA but moved to San Diego to attend UCSD. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Education. Because I have always been passionate about education and experiencing new things, I moved to South Korea to begin my teaching career. During my time overseas, I lived and worked as both an English teacher for local students and as an elementary classroom teacher for American children on an Army base. While living abroad, I fell in love with hiking and began exploring my natural surroundings more and more. Living overseas afforded me the opportunity to travel to several countries including Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Philippines, Germany, and Spain where I explored the picturesque natural scenery.

After several years, I decided to leave my dream job and begin my journey back to San Diego to pursue a career where I could merge my passions – teaching and nature. I completed Trail Guide Certification from Mission Trails Regional Park in 2015 and began leading guided nature hikes for both Mission Trails and Cabrillo National Monument. I have written and published curriculum for environmentally conscious non-profits and lead a successful workshop for science educators. I also worked as a financial and operations manager for a local family-run construction business. In 2021, I finally merged all the things I’m passionate about and started my own business, Grounded by Nature, as an online/in-person nature-based life and mindset coach for women and provide life-changing transformations for my clients in nature whenever possible.

When I’m not on the trail or working with my soul-aligned clients, you’ll find me outdoors with my two beautiful, nature-loving girls, Aurora (5) and Everest (3) and my supportive partner, Robert. I reside in sunny La Mesa, CA and can be spotted regularly at Lake Murray walking and exploring with my girls.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road by any means. I left a dream job in South Korea and moved back to San Diego on a leap of faith (no job, no car, no apartment, and nowhere to live). I truly just knew I was going to figure it out. It took several years and several attempts at getting it right. I tried so many different “jobs” and finally when nothing felt aligned, I once again took a leap of faith and started my entrepreneurial journey and founded my company Grounded by Nature where I partner with women and support them along their journey to connect with themselves by guiding them into nature to disconnect from the outer world in order to reconnect with their inner world.

We’ve been impressed with Grounded by Nature, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a mom and entrepreneur, I understand that time is a limited and valuable resource. As a nature-based life and mindset coach, my passion is to help you release your overwhelming, constant on-the-go lifestyle to make room for the most important things; family, joy, and abundance. I will partner with you on a journey to reconnect with yourself by way of Mother Nature and through her lessons will help get you on the “trail” to having more time and freedom to JUST BE. In a short period of time, you will feel a sense of balance and ease as you step back into life with your new enhanced self. Are you ready to trade in the busy/go-go mentality for a more calm and breath-easy one? If so, I can support you.

What makes Grounded by Nature so unique is that most of the inner work is done while immersed in nature. Women who live in San Diego can join me on a 1:1 hike (part of a coaching package), group hike, or a nature retreat where we go deep and look inward at what truly is important. For those ladies that cannot join locally, I encourage my 1:1 clients to do their journaling “homework” out in nature. Getting out in nature really helps us disconnect from the grind of the day-to-day and to tap in to connect inward.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I can attribute so much of my success to the support of my loving partner, Robert, and to the love and hugs I get on a daily basis from my two girls. It’s also so important to have grace and compassion for yourself knowing that not every day is going to be easy, but that I can pick myself up, dust myself off and keep going. It takes resiliency and self-determination to know that the work I do is impacting others.
