Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Bloom.
Hi Timothy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Where, do I begin? Well, long story short, my background is growing up in the church; my dad is a Preacher. I started playing instruments and singing when I was 8 years old. After I graduated from High School the next day, I moved to Germany and studied music and production for a year. Later on, at the age of 21/22, I moved to Los Angeles, California, and signed a management contract with the first A&R of Motown, Mickey Stevenson, in which I had the opportunity to work on my first big record with Smokey Robinson on his Definitive Collection album called “My World.” After that, everything started to snowball; I have two Grammys under my belt, with Ne-Yo and Chris Brown; I was then signed to a Major Label, Interscope, under the supervision of Jimmy Iovine, Polow da Don, and Timberland. Releasing my first big record, “Til the end of time, “with V Bozeman. Everything was great. Well established, the time of my life, and then all of the sudden Boom!!! I lost everything, substance abuse, lost, the industry turned me into one of those industry guys… Years later, I became independent, went to rehab, and got my life back together. And now I’m thriving as of today, taking care of my beautiful family. Humbled.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I know for a fact that everything in life isn’t easy; it’s tough; I was told as a young lad your dreams will bring on your biggest challenges, and what you do with those challenges will determine the outcome previously I stated the substance abuse with alcohol, was one of my biggest challenges, some would say I have an addictive personality. It was my crutch to get through the day. My Achilles’ Heel.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Producer/Songwriter/Artist/Musician. I’ve produced for a lot of major and mainstream artists such as Smokey Robinson, Neyo, Chris Brown, K Michelle, Diana Ross, Post Malone, and others; I am most proud of, I would say are my kids, to be honest, a Grammy could never compare. What sets me apart? Hmm, I think that I rebel against being placed in a box. I like to take all genres of music and create a nice pot of gumbo.
What do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is being able to wake up in the morning knowing I can be a better version of myself; we sometimes take the breath of life for granted. As long as I am here on this planet, I have known choice but to embrace every single moment, whether it is good or bad.
