After graduating from UCSD, I bought a pair of Allen Edmonds dress shoes from Nordstrom to wear to my graduation ceremony. After shining them and posting the results on YouTube, my video went viral with millions of views, launching The Elegant Oxford.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Scaling my business has definitely been challenging. As a one-man show, it’s difficult to find the time to do everything for everyone.

My YouTube channel specializes on how-to tutorials, and I take personal commissions to restore or transform men’s dress shoes.
I am really proud of my reputation as an artisan in this niche area. I’m known for my artistic ability to shine and dye leather dress shoes. Featured on Business Insider.
