Has it been a smooth road?
In Councilmember Cate’s office, he has a big whiteboard. He tracks the number of days in office and how many days he has to serve the District 6 residents.
He does this for two reasons:
•First, to remind himself he only have a finite amount of days serving as councilman.
•And second, to remember every day is a new opportunity and he can’t take any day for granted.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
District 6 includes the communities of Clairemont Mesa, Kearny Mesa, Mira Mesa, Rancho Peñasquitos and Sorrento Valley.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
As a former small business owner, Chris knows how it’s easy to start a business, harder to maintain your business, and even more challenging to grow your business. And that’s why his office sends a letter to every single new business that opens in District 6. They let them know that if there’s ever anything they can do to help their business succeed, to reach out to them.
There are over 14,000 businesses in District 6, with nearly 30% being home-based businesses. A lot of great ideas and products are made right in the confines of District 6 homes. Councilmember Cate will continue to advocate, support, and champion for all businesses, large and small.
