After surviving cancer and navigating complex neurological health challenges, Annabell Catania has evolved from clean beauty pioneer to wellness innovator with the launch of BioHack Wellness, San Diego’s first biohack-focused wellness clinic. Building on the values that shaped Bella GLOW Clean Skincare—transparency, accessibility, and integrity—Catania is creating a doctor-led, spa-like space that integrates regenerative, functional, and conventional medicine to address root causes, not just symptoms, helping patients feel safe, seen, and hopeful as they reclaim energy, resilience, and quality of life.
Hi Annabell, it’s so great to reconnect with you and see how much your journey has evolved since we first featured your clean skincare company back in 2019. From cancer survivor to clean beauty founder to now launching San Diego’s first BioHack Wellness Clinic, your path has taken some incredible turns. Looking back, what personal experiences most shaped your decision to move beyond skincare and into regenerative and functional medicine?
What shaped it most was realizing that beauty and wellness are never just skin deep—they’re cellular, hormonal, emotional, and deeply personal.
My clean skincare journey started because I wanted transparency and safety in what we put on our bodies, especially after everything I’d been through health-wise. After cancer, I became intensely aware of how much our environment, inflammation, stress, and toxins can impact the body. Building Bella GLOW Clean Skincare was my first way of taking control and helping others do the same.
But over time, I kept meeting people—especially women—who were doing “all the right things” and still felt exhausted, inflamed, stuck, or dismissed. I realized the same values that built my skincare company—integrity, transparency, and accessibility—were missing in so much of healthcare. That’s what pushed me beyond skincare and into creating a clinic that addresses the root causes and supports true healing, not just symptom management.
Your health challenges—from cancer to vestibular nerve damage—seem to have deeply influenced the way you approach wellness. How did those moments change your perspective on what true healing and longevity really look like?
Those experiences taught me that healing isn’t linear, and it isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Cancer forced me to look at the body as a whole system—immune function, inflammation, detox pathways, hormones, stress, sleep, and mindset. And vestibular nerve damage taught me something different: that you can look “fine” on the outside while your nervous system is fighting a battle every day. It gave me deep empathy for people who feel unseen or unheard in traditional settings.
Longevity, to me, isn’t just living longer. It’s having the energy to show up for your life. It’s resilience. It’s mobility. It’s brain clarity. It’s reducing suffering. It’s feeling safe in your own body again. That’s the lens I bring into BioHack Wellness—real outcomes, real quality of life, and care that respects the full human experience.
BioHack Wellness is combining regenerative, functional, and conventional medicine under one roof in a spa-like, welcoming environment. What gaps in the current healthcare system did you feel needed to be reimagined, and how is your clinic doing things differently for everyday patients?
The biggest gap I saw was that people are often forced to choose between extremes: either a rushed conventional model that treats symptoms, or wellness spaces that feel disconnected from medical oversight.
We built BioHack Wellness to bridge that gap—doctor-led, medical-grade, evidence-informed care in an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and human.
We do things differently in a few key ways:
• We integrate regenerative, functional, and conventional medicine instead of making patients bounce between disconnected providers.
• We prioritize advanced diagnostics—from in-house labs to comprehensive biomarker testing and FibroScan liver scanning—so we’re not guessing.
• We focus on outcomes and root causes, not quick fixes.
• We make it accessible through transparent pricing, memberships, and support for F.S.A./H.S.A. and financing options when appropriate.
• We’re building a community, not just a clinic—education, workshops, and patient empowerment are part of the model.
And most importantly: we listen. That alone can change someone’s health trajectory.
You’ve built multiple women-led ventures rooted in transparency and accessibility—from aluminum-free deodorant to advanced exosome and regenerative therapies. How do you balance cutting-edge science with making these treatments feel approachable and affordable for the community?
I’ve always believed that people deserve the truth, delivered with compassion—and without intimidation.
Cutting-edge science can feel overwhelming, so we translate it. We explain the “why” in plain language, set realistic expectations, and make sure patients understand what they’re choosing and why it matters. We’re very mechanism-based in how we educate—what it does, who it’s for, and what results are realistic.
Affordability is also a values decision. We built:
• Membership tiers that include real monthly value (I.V. therapy, injections, sauna + P.E.M.F., StemWave) so people can access consistent care without feeling like wellness is only for the elite.
• Transparent pricing with no hidden fees.
• Flexible payment options including F.S.A./H.S.A. and financing where appropriate.
And we’re intentional about offering a full spectrum—from foundational therapies like infrared sauna and nutrient support to advanced regenerative options like exosomes—so patients can start where they are and build over time.
As you prepare for the grand opening and this next chapter, what excites you most about BioHack Wellness’s potential impact in San Diego, and what do you hope patients feel the moment they walk through your doors for the first time?
What excites me most is that we’re creating a place where people finally feel like they have options—and a team that’s genuinely in their corner.
San Diego is full of wellness-minded people, but there’s still a huge need for a clinic that’s both innovative and medically grounded, and also warm, inclusive, and approachable. I’m excited to help people reverse patterns they’ve been stuck in for years—chronic fatigue, hormone imbalance, inflammation, pain, metabolic issues, stress—and to do it with a plan that’s personalized and measurable.
The moment someone walks through our doors, I want them to feel three things:
• Safe — like they can exhale.
• Seen — like their story matters here.
• Hopeful — because there’s finally a path forward that makes sense.
That’s what BioHack Wellness is about: helping people biohack their best life with integrity, compassion, and real outcomes.
