An Inspired Chat with Angela Noble of Kensington-Talmadge

Angela Noble shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Angela, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I’m the type of person who has to exercise in the morning or else it just won’t happen. So the first thing I do is an at-home workout. Then, I drink a smoothie for breakfast while I post and engage on the LinkedIn Company Pages that I manage for my clients. My favorite part of the morning is going on a 1 mile walk with my whole family. Then it’s a quick shower and off to work!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Angela and I co-own and operate Noble Intent with my partner Cris. We’re a woman-led digital marketing agency in San Diego that helps organizations evolve through custom website creation and design-forward digital marketing.. We’re on a mission to create a more inclusive internet, one website at a time. As a top digital marketing agency and top web design company in San Diego, we provide the service and capabilities of a full-service agency with the collaboration and care of an in-house team member. Our focus is on custom websites and LinkedIn marketing and advertising.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
When I met my husband Cris (who is now my business partner) we were both working at our first jobs out of college. I was happy with the job which was in a marketing department where I was doing graphic design, writing, and marketing. I envisioned myself working there forever and felt like I had finally “made it” after spending most of my life believing that I would not be able to go to college or have a career. Cris, however, had bigger dreams and encouraged me to dream bigger as well. I started doing freelance design jobs as a side hustle and he switched careers entirely to learn how to code websites. Five years later in 2016, I would quit my full time job to start Noble Intent full time. In 2019, Cris quit his full time job at Intuit TurboTax to join me in running our business together. Thanks to his encouragement and support, I now see that I can achieve more than I ever dreamed. And we’re just getting started!

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Self-limiting beliefs and fear of failure held me back most in my life. Once I allowed myself to dream a little bigger, believe in myself, and try new things, I was able to accomplish the most. Only in releasing fear of failure can you allow yourself to try new and difficult things. Things don’t always go according to plan, but doing nothing at all certainly won’t get you anywhere.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
I go to a lot of business networking events and post on LinkedIn a lot. But the truth is, both of those things are really outside of my comfort zone. They are simply a necessary part of running a business. I have to meet new people, build relationships, and stay top-of-mind with existing relationships. Going to events and being active on social media are difficult, but very necessary, ways to connect with clients.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m outside working in my garden. I love seeing the birds, butterflies, and insects and creating a little ecosystem for them. I’m actually just starting up landscape design classes at Southwestern College to learn more about landcare and plants.
