Diana Bribiesca shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Diana, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would hire myself if I were a bride seeking a planner. I would because of the experience (over 20 years of planning), professionalism, and friendliness I would receive. My emails would be responded to quickly, and any concerns I have would be addressed, whether about a planning item or the wedding day. I would see the care I would receive, and that I as a bride, matter!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Diana Bribiesca, and my company, At Your Side Planning, plans marriage proposals, weddings, and micro-ceremonies. We are unique as we’ve been in business since 2004 and bring not only expertise but genuine friendliness and love to the table! We are working on expanding our marriage proposal and micro-ceremonies to be our main focus for the company.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The one who saw me clearly before I could see myself would be God. He created me and gave me the gifts I have to be able to plan and manage event days. Before I knew I was talented in this area, he knew and ordained my steps to be where I am today. Planning events does not feel like work to me – it is something that is truly my passion.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Romans 5:3-5 states, “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.” I could honestly say that through times of suffering, I have grown as an individual, and my character has developed. Suffering has taught me compassion, empathy, and understanding for those who encounter similar challenges. I desire to help others going through similar issues that I have gone through. It’s taught me humility as well.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
If everyone is jumping on board quickly and it’s a “loud” trend, it’s a fad. I believe foundational shifts take time and progress after some time. A fad is a “color of the year” or wearing a Bass Pro shop hat. A foundational shift is smaller, intimate weddings or a timeless and clean color palette. Foundational shifts usually make more sense than fads, too.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am doing what I was born to do! I know what gifts I specifically have been given by God to plan and execute weddings. Without a shadow of a doubt, I was created to plan and bring events to life!
